To mark Pride Month, the Albertsons Pride Alliance organized a panel event, "Building Bridges in the LGBTQ+ Community", where our LGBTQIA+ teammates shared their personal stories and insights on inclusion and belonging at Albertsons Companies. We asked our panelists what Pride means to them, how they feel supported by our company, and how they celebrate their identities and communities. As a proud lesbian and poly person, I understand the profound impact that being seen and acknowledged can have on an individual. It's about more than just being present; it's about creating a space where we can all feel safe, supported, and free to express our true selves without fear. June is Pride Month. For the LGBTQ+ community, #PrideMonth promotes dignity, equal rights, and self-affirmation and is a way of increasing society’s awareness of the issues they face. As companies engage in DEI planning and initiatives, it is key that all groups are represented. The acronym LGBTQ+ has been extended to encompass a more diverse group, most recently shown as LGBTQIA2s+, indicating the continued focus on inclusion for all. RiSE up for PRIDE Every year, companies across the world show up in recognition of Pride. But the reality is that our LGBTQ+ community expect more than a once-a-year acknowledgement. They want to drive real change, where change is needed, and where better to start than the workplace. It was great to lead the Route team in this discussion yesterday covering the importance of representation for all groups in advertising and the value that this thinking gives to business. Some really good debate about the importance of language and context in society, and also in activation when considering things like key word strategy through to linear TV ad placement. Really important topics that are the backbone of planning on a daily basis.

New data from the Human Rights Campaign Foundation reveals that over 75% of LGBTQ+ adults would view companies less favorably if they roll back diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives.
