🎉 Victorians have returned a staggering 750 million containers since the launch of CDS Vic on 1 November 2023.     ✅ That’s $75 million back into the pockets of Victorians including through donations to charity and community groups.     🌏 CDS Vic is an important part of building Victoria’s circular economy.    🏆 Its benefits include a reduction in litter and new economic opportunities – particularly for many socially disadvantaged groups, community clubs and charities as well as generating hundreds of new jobs.     ♻ Eligible containers can be returned at refund collection points across Victoria. The storms in Ticino, Graubünden and Valais caused huge damage that will make life in the valleys and villages difficult in the coming months. Together with the 🤝 Swiss population, 261 Swiss Post branches launched the “Cookies for hope” fundraising campaign to alleviate the plight of those affected. 261 branches took part in the “Cookies for hope” (Guetzli für Zuversicht) fundraising campaign. Customers purchased the Ticino delicacies “Biscotti alla Farina Bóna” 🍪 for 10 francs in the branches. The net proceeds of over 64,000 francs will be divided equally between projects in the three municipalities severely affected by the storm: Lostallo (GR), Cevio-Lavizzara (TI) and Saas-Grund (VS). 💛

Kiru Balson described the work of the Max Fordham LLP team who worked towards the challenge of achieving 30% reuse during the refurbishment set as a planning condition, asking themselves the questions: 1. What can we realistically reuse in the same scheme. 2. What about the stuff we don’t need? Tanka Fund is dedicated to aiding rancher partners in returning Buffalo to their ancestral lands by providing necessary infrastructure. A crucial aspect of this support involves helping ranchers construct specific fencing to safely manage their Buffalo herds. One Native rancher is close to completing his fencing project, which will allow him to care for up to 150 Buffalo. Financial contributions are needed to help finish the remaining 5½ miles of fencing. The cost of fencing is approximately $34 per foot, and donations are crucial to help complete the remaining fencing this summer. I am really excited about Severn River Association's #oysterrestoration program this summer! It's kicking off next month in three big ways: 1) We are putting in 10 MILLION #oysters on our #restoration reef at Traces Hollow 2a with the help of our partners Oyster Recovery Partnership -- and with YOUR HELP (see the match grant alert below): https://lnkd.in/g9UgCMY7 2) Our #MarylandersGrowOysters program participants will be planting their home-grown oysters on a different area of Traces Hollow starting June 1. SRA has the largest MGO program with over 300 households growing oysters in cages off of docks/piers for nine months while the spat on shell grow big and strong enough for planting on a #reef. 3) With our boat Sea Girl finally repaired and back in the water, we will be fitting her with a newly designed instrument. Late this summer that instrument will pump oyster #larvae onto yet another #restorationreef for 'direct setting', a new technique that may be able to supplement (but not supplant) our other restoration techniques.
