🏃🏽♂️Running with Purpose: Supporting Firefighters 🏃🏽♂️ Hello LinkedIn Community, I’m excited to share a personal challenge that’s been fueling me in recent months. In three weeks, I'll be running in the Boston Marathon as both a personal challenge and to raise awareness for an incredible nonprofit. This marathon marks the last 26.2-mile leg in my journey to complete the Abbott World Marathon Majors—New York, Berlin, Chicago, Tokyo, London, and Boston! It’s been an epic seven-year journey of personal growth with many challenges and triumphs. If you ever get the opportunity, I recommend you take on a marathon. I’ve learned so much about myself in this process. Here are some take-a-ways that I think can be applied far beyond running: 1) Go after audacious goals. You will surprise yourself with what you can achieve if you actually go for it. 2) Make a plan, but be flexible. If you need to skip a run because you're hurt, that’s what is required. If you need to run less than planned one day because there was not enough time that day, that’s okay. Keep striving for the benchmarks and return to the plan, but know that life will happen. 3) Lean on your community. Gutting it out on your own only gets you so far. Your community's love, support, and honest feedback will get you to the finish line. I’m excited to support the Last Call Foundation as part of this run. This organization is dedicated to advocating for the safety of firefighters. By running for Team Last Call, I hope more people will look into this organization. The bravery and commitment of first responders inspire me, and this is my small way of giving back to those who put their lives on the line for our communities every day. 🌍 From April 5th to May 10th, Munksjö employees worldwide will embark on Tour DeCore, an incredible 17,800 km journey of unity and impact!   It is the fourth consecutive year of the challenge. The aim is for each employee, in their location, to walk, run, or pedal to sum up kilometers to the team to exceed this distance together in up to 35 days, breaking last year’s record and demonstrating the power of collective effort.    As we pedal forward, we're not only promoting healthier habits but also solidarity. For every kilometer conquered, Munksjö will donate to a social cause. If the team exceeds the target within the deadline, we will increase our donation, amplifying our impact beyond the finish line.   Tour DeCore is far more than a physical feat. It's proof of the remarkable outcomes when individuals come together for a shared purpose, regardless of location, nationality, or role. Like in business, we're joining forces towards a common goal, aware that together, there is no limit to how far we can go.   🌟 Join us as we pedal towards a brighter future, fueled by teamwork and driven by purpose, and leave your guess: how long will the Munksjö team take to exceed 17,800 km?    #TourDeCore #MunksjöCommunity #Teamwork #HealthyHabits #smartdecorpaper

What gets measured, gets done... My mum always teased that I counted everything (I even measured the height of my stacked textbooks after studies, not even mentioning the number of used pens, writing pads or hours in front of said books... vs target of course). Little did I know this habit would stick (#JamesClear and many others in the same discipline speak to my soul). Believing in hard work above all; consistency, marginal gains and tracking, I'm exceptionally proud being part of the #AutoProtectGroup #UKChallenge 2024 team. Help our team support #ActionForChildren doing amazing work to protect and support children and young people (765,905 to be exact last year; as we're counting). At 174.4km running and 780km cycling clocked to date (not that we're counting); almost sufficiently prepared for this amazing initiative in just two weeks' time. Stick with habits that stick.

Loved what Mike Roeth said here: "All too often when there is a multi-phase plan we jump ahead with ideas for the latter part of the plan. But here’s the thing: the beginning phases usually set the stage for the success of the latter stages." So right. There are so many trucks and routes that can be electrified right now with existing battery technology, fleet depots, route networks and spare electric grid capacity, especially at night. We don't need to solve all the EV challenges today, but there are many that can, in fact, be solved today, at low cost and high reliability, with the right plan and people to execute it. Let's start by picking the low-hanging fruit. That will give auto and EVSE OEMs the capital they need to continue to invest in R&D to address range and weight challenges. The journey of a 1,000 miles begins with one small step. On behalf of everyone in the industry, thanks to North American Council for Freight Efficiency (NACFE) for championing the possible.

The crew at Lectric Ebikes in #Phoenix, #Arizona, have been designing and building some of the most affordable, functional #zeroemission vehicles on the planet for years now. This year, they partnered with Mr. Beast to donate $600,000 worth of e-bikes to people in need across the United States. The challenge with any philanthropic effort is finding the best way to put donor resources into the hands of people who can use them most effectively. To tackle this head-on, Mr Beast’s philanthropic arm, Beast Philanthropy, put out a call to its massive following, asking people to submit a video communicating their need. They received thousands of videos and filtered that down to 600 people on the internet. From that shortlist, the team at Beast Philanthropy opened the floodgates and the wave of donations started. Some of the #ebikes were delivered by hand while others were shipped directly to the recipients. So many of them posted video responses of them unboxing their bikes, riding them for the first time, or sharing how their new electric bikes would change their lives. It’s a powerful format that shows how singular actions like donating a bike — whether it be new, used, electric, or manual — can absolutely change people’s lives. It can be a simple act of paying for someone’s ticket on the bus or giving someone in need a ride to the store. Working through life one day at a time can sometimes be a slog, and this video was a great reminder to step out of our comfort zones to extend a helping hand whenever we’re able. We don’t often think about people in the #US as having the same level of need as what we hear about from other countries around the world. But as with any society, there are people at the fringes suffering everyday. They struggle to make ends meet whether it be to support their family here in the States or to send the money they earn to their family overseas. Mr. Beast shared a handful of the stories from the massive wave of e-bike donations in the video linked below. It’s a touching story that shows not only how massive corporations like Mr. Beast and Lectric Ebikes can make an impact (and are!), but also how people in each and every one of our communities across the nation and around the world are in need, and how every one of us can take a small step to make a positive impact in the lives of those around us. This particular initiative is especially touching because it not only transforms people’s lives, it puts zero-emission transportation solutions into their hands and enables them to get to school, to work, and to run errands around town with zero emissions in a low-cost, low maintenance electric vehicle that just happens to be a Lectric Ebike. 🔻🔻🔻 Click/tap image below to see video on YouTube 🔻🔻🔻
