Newsweek said it partnered with Statista to release its annual ranking of the world's best hospitals. The series began in 2019. The researchers evaluated 2,400 hospitals across 30 countries, including the United States, much of western Europe, Australia, 10 Asian countries, Chile and Malaysia. In New Jersey, the following hospitals earned a spot among the world’s very best: Morristown Medical Center Rank: 47 City: Morristown Hackensack University Medical Center Rank: 58 City: Hackensack Valley Hospital Rank: 137 City: Ridgewood Overlook Medical Center Rank: 174 City: Summit Englewood Hospital and Medical Center Rank: 329 City: Englewood Monmouth Medical Center Rank: 411 City: Long Branch Hospitals were scored based on an online survey of about 85,000 medical experts and publicly available data from post-hospitalization patient surveys on their general satisfaction, Newsweek said. Hygiene and patient/doctor ratios were also considered, along with a Statista survey on whether hospitals use “Patient Reported Outcome Measures,” which are surveys filled out by patients about their experience. #besthospitals #NJhospitals #newsweek

Today, Barcelona Health Hub had the pleasure to receive Juan Abarca, President of HM Hospitales & IDIS (Instituto para el Desarrollo e Integración de la Sanidad), and Antoni Garrell, President of HM Hospitales Catalunya. 💫 BHH's Luis Badrinas, Eva Rosell & Cristian Pascual met with them to highlight the importance of joint efforts to drive #digitalhealth innovation. HM Hospitales is the private hospital group of reference at national level that bases its offer on excellence in care together with research, teaching, constant technological #innovation and the publication of results. The IDIS Institute encourages all initiatives from the private health sector to aim at achieving an optimum level of care and health for all sectors of the population. It's great to see how both organizations align with BHH's purpose to benefit the #healthcare system and enhance people's quality of life.

Empathy in Healthcare Design: Navigating the Future I recently came across a compelling article in Hospital + Healthcare magazine discussing "The Role of Empathy" in the design and construction of the new Metro South Health Redlands Satellite Hospital (Talwalpin Milbul.) The emphasis on empathy is refreshingly simple yet often overshadowed by cost-cutting measures. Recognising that hospital visits and stays can be inherently stressful, prioritising empathy is crucial. This is a cause that resonates deeply with me and a driving force behind my excitement about introducing WiseNav to the Australasian market. While the significance of wayfinding in fostering empathy may not be immediately apparent, it plays a pivotal role. For example, I can remember rushing around a hospital in desperation trying to find a loved one who had been taken in ill. I was in tears and struggling to find the relevant wing, let alone ward. Had they had WiseNav, I would have had step by step directions in the form of photos. Easy for even the most stressed of individuals to follow. WiseNav serves as a conduit for empathy, placing the patient at the centre of an individually tailored perspective. It ensures a profoundly personal and reassuring navigation experience, guiding individuals from their homes to appointments. With personalised directions and multilingual options, WiseNav simplifies navigation, alleviating patient stress and optimising valuable staff time. https://lnkd.in/gentpnVp #Healthcare #Empathy #Wayfinding Queensland Health Queensland Government

Sheba Medical Center, Tel Hashomer, the biggest hospital in Israel and the entire Middle East, has been ranked ninth in Newsweek’s annual list of the world’s best hospitals. This is the fifth time that the hospital has been ranked in the top 10 by the American magazine in the six years since the current rankings were created. In its blurb about Sheba, Newsweek highlighted the Ramat Gan hospital’s emphasis on research and development with its ARC (Accelerate, Redesign, Collaborate) Center for Digital Innovation and the role its artificial intelligence platform Aidoc played in treating the casualties of the massive October 7 terror attack by Hamas. “I dedicate this achievement to the entire Israeli health system, whose strengths stood out even more during the test of war. This achievement is further evidence of the resilience of the health system, which continues to be as always an anchor for the State of Israel,” said Sheba Medical Center chief Prof. Yitshak Kreiss. #medtechinnovation #besthospitals #digitalinnovation #israelinnovation #israelitech #healthsystems #healthcaresystems
