Incoming Corporate Analyst July 2025 @ J.P. Morgan | BSc Mathematics and Economics at University of London and LSE | IGCSE,AS and A-Level Math Teacher
I am extremely excited to once again join a Bright Network event. Over the past months I have attended many of their event such as the Breaking Barriers event, Breaking Barriers focus group, DEI&B focus group, achieved top 10 in their NextGen Breaking Barriers Individual Student Award 2023, Internship Experience UK 2023 and a few others. Whilst attending these events I found a new passion that is something I hope to advocate for within a work place and overall pass it on to my students I teach. This passion is Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging. The event I will be attending is the Bright Network Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging Event 2024. I am excited to hear about the fundamentals in place to support everyone, how it grows and strengthens working environments and create more successful projects suitable to everyone, and many more topics from top company’s, and once again to be part of an incredible networking experience. Insightful conversations and engaging conversations is definitely something else to look forward too!🍀 Without attending the events I have with Bright Network I would have never grown so passionate about these topics and broken through my own boundaries, such as my health, and achieved my own success story. I grew with every event I attended and therefore I encourage people to attend this event - whether it is virtually or in person. Why not seize the opportunity for continuous learning? Something that is very attractive to employers for potential candidates for internships, placement years and graduate roles. I am thankful for every experience and attending events like these helped me to secure my Corporate Analyst Development Program internship at J.P. Morgan. ✨ Here is the link if you would like to join and have a great networking experience: #brightnetwork #deib #diversityequityinclusionandbelonging #breakingbarriers #networking #internship #experience #continuouslearning

Have you ever thought about the idea that every conversation you’ve had from moment you spoke your first words to the people around you up until the conversation you had at work, home or school today tells a story? I attended a webinar hosted by Amberjack Global in collaboration with Bright Network about The Power of Storytelling today so that I could learn how to use my way with words to tell stories in the work environment and here’s a small snippet of the notes I took on the topics that were discussed. - What is storytelling -> presentations, pitches, pleas etc that form your personal brand - Why people tell stories -> to influence, educate and entertain - When to use it in your career -> when selling a concept, idea, experience or yourself - How to tell stories in preparation for a job application/assesment -> touch on the six core competencies that apply to members of the workforce in various industries: 1) Collaboration - the ability to work with others to achieve a common goal 2) Communication - conveying info clearly and effectively, both verbal and written 3) Results orientation - setting clear goals, prioritising and achieving desired outcomes 4) Critical thinking - to analyse info, evaluation arguments and conclude with reason 5) Overcoming conflict - the ability to address disagreement and manage conflicts constructively 6) Resilience and change - the capacity to adapt to challenges, setbacks and change I gained an insight into how storytelling can be equipped to help me progress my career path. Head to https://lnkd.in/eAY3eqyJ for webinars like this in the future. #Brightnetwork #IEUK2024 #Ireland #Amberjack

How creative are you? Lots of us would probably say 'not very', but there are many ways to be creative. From creative problem solving (fitting a should be 60 min careers session into 15 mins for example!) to how to engage others in what 'careers' is all about or how to engage a client, using creative resources to help them approach things in a different way. These are all things we'll be talking about in our 'Using creative content to engage others' session at #CareersFest2024. I had the pleasure of doing the pre-meet session with the fabulous speakers Joanne Carrington, Rebecca Healy, Debbie Dymock BA(Hons), RCDP and Lucy Sattler. and I can say anyone with a ticket for #CareersFest2024 is in for a treat! Spoiler alert: we'll be discussing how you don't have to be the next Banksy to do amazingly creative things for you and your clients. Not got your ticket yet? The clock is ticking! Google 'Careers Festival' and you'll find our website with a direct link to book your ticket now before they're all gone! And on the topic of creativity....we all use lots of tools/resources to help our careers work, whether it's to help engage a client or develop our CPD and so one of our 6 awards is for the best careers resource. You've got till this Friday to nominate yourself or someone else (details on the website). #CareersFest2024 #Creativtyincareers #careersincareers #awards

Digital Transformation Leader @ Formula2GX Digital | Strategic Consulting, Tech & Innovation, Training
"There is an unsung story that has yet to be written." Today, I wanted to shed light on the struggles candidates face in finding good jobs. It's disheartening when: - Candidates apply but never receive a call back. - They get interviewed but then hear nothing back. - They apply repeatedly, with follow-ups, but to no avail. - Even intern positions demand prior experience. - Some expect free work from interns. As an employer, let's be more considerate and understanding of candidates' needs. While we can't solve all their challenges, we can make a difference by valuing what each candidate brings beyond a job description. At Formula2GX Digital, we believe in supporting candidates and recognizing their unique offerings. Let's work together to create opportunities and cultivate a more inclusive job market. There is an untold narrative waiting to be shared. Can you help make a difference? Happy Friday.

The careers advice I got was rubbish... ...is something we often hear. It's usually from a by-gone time (I know my careers advice in school was, well, non existent, but that was, ahem, a *few* years ago). It is not relevant when we talk about the careers profession now. Of course there are still pockets of poor careers support, either through individuals and/or as a result of funding, just like every sector, we have our challenges. But it is also rammed full of BRILLIANT professionals, working tirelessly to support their clients, whatever age they are and wherever they are in their career journey. So it is VERY EXCITING to announce a new update about #CareersFest2024. The theme this year is all about longevity, of both our sector and of our clients' careers, helping them with their career management skills. And contrary to what you might think, UCAS is not simply about helping students with applying to university, they are actually also focused on supporting learners of all ages. And so at The Talent Cycle we are THRILLED that UCAS have become a key partner and one of the many exciting things that means is that 🥁 🥁 🥁 I'll be filming this year's festival live from the UCAS studio!! So lights, camera, action! So check it out online on Friday 18th Oct (it will still be recorded for those who can't make it on the day). We'll be joined virtually by some amazing speakers and thanks to UCAS and their tech, you'll also easily be able to do virtual networking with others during some optional breakout sessions and still lots more exciting things to be revealed! Still a chance to grab your ticket before they all go: https://lnkd.in/e5dwBEfv Huge thanks to Sarah Derbyshire for all your support in making this happen! #CareersFest2024 #careersincareers
