Meet ECES team! 🇧🇫 Meet Joël Minoungou, our Project and Communication Officer. He joined our team two years ago and has provided support for ECES HQ and projects such as Le Projet d’Appui au Renforcement de la Démocratie en République de Guinée (PARD-Guinée) and Le Projet d’Appui à l’Observation citoyenne du Cycle électoral de la Transition 2020-2022 au Mali - PRO Observation Mali. Joël is supporting the implementation of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001 standards and working towards their constant follow-through. 🏆 Being ISO 9001 certified means that ECES has successfully implemented a system of continual improvement in all its processes, ensuring that we consistently meet the needs and expectations of our donors and beneficiaries. This certification validates our organization’s compliance with some of the most comprehensive external and international standards, showcasing our dedication to quality. Today at the Arab Coordination Group Forum #IsDBAM2024, we launched the trilingual (Arabic, English, French) Glossary of Key Terms in Evaluation and Results-Based Management in partnership with #OECD and #OECD Development. A cornerstone for fostering collaboration, this second edition emphasizes the importance of institutionalizing and learning systematically from evaluations as part of good governance collaboration towards #SDG2030 #OECD_Evalnet

The African Professionalisation Initiative (API) is gradually making a significant impact across the continent, particularly in the realm of public sector finance. As the demands on public sector accountants continue to grow, it has become increasingly important to ensure that they are adequately trained and equipped to meet global standards of professionalism and competence. In Africa, the professionalization of public sector accountants is crucial. With governments striving for greater transparency, accountability, and efficiency in financial management, the role of well-trained and certified public accountants has never been more essential. The API aims to bridge this gap by providing the necessary education, resources, and support to raise the professional standards of accountants within the public sector. By embracing the API, African governments can ensure that their accounting professionals are prepared to handle the complexities of modern financial systems, ultimately leading to improved service delivery and better governance.

On reaching the final year of work in both the Damal Program and Miisaan Program, the Somali-based consortia around Security and the Rule of Law (SoRL) which include Media INK, Interpeace and IDLO - International Development Law Organization had already captured many lessons and reflections – just in different places and not synthesized. To ensure the organisations and SoRL portfolio can build on this knowledge, they are working with us to put this learning into one place. They are doing this while simultaneously drawing conclusions from the work that’s been done and the context in which it has taken place. On this final mile of their learning journey, the team has so far entered their learning questions into Propel, together with integrating their learning materials and existing reflections. After the onboarding, the teams will go through regular reflections sessions, guided by our team to ensure that the found data is captured, digested and can be shared with whom and to where it is needed to be shared. What’s ahead? We are pleased to share the results of the External Mid-term Review of IDI's Bilateral Support to SAI Madagascar! Ernst & Young, Sweden conducted the review and concluded that the project has contributed to improved performance of SAI Madagascar. The management of the SAI has shown ownership of the project and the everyday management of the project is functioning well. The Strategic Partners will conduct inclusive research or use existing research; effectively communicate their research with diverse audiences through a variety of methods; and hold inclusive dialogues.
