It's digital and it's the future...

Your child can start gaining practical knowledge in the vocation of their choice from as early as the 2nd grade. Thanks to the recently revised National Curriculum Framework (NCF), Vocational Education (VE) will be integrated into Indian schools. To embed VE, the government has launched the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) 4.0, mandating CBSE schools to establish skill hubs. This strategic move aims to bridge the gap between education and employability. NCF has adopted a holistic approach: 1. Foundational & Preparatory Stages: Developing basic work-related capacities through play and activities. 2. Middle Stage (Grades 6-8): Exposure to a variety of work through project-based study. 3. Grades 9-10: Learning specific vocations with equal importance as core subjects. 4. Grades 11-12: Students can specialize in vocations or choose none. VE Integration comes with many benefits: ✅ Preparation for Employment: Boosting students' job readiness. ✅ Life Skills Development: Fostering critical thinking and problem-solving. ✅ Broad Educational Foundation: Valuing all types of work, from manual to intellectual. ✅ Local Relevance: Tailoring education to meet local needs and job opportunities. ✅ Social Equality: Combating biases and promoting respect for all kinds of work. However, a major hurdle in the practical implementation of VE remains the philosophical bias that VE is for those who might not succeed in mainstream education and that manual skill-based work is inferior. It is taking time for Vocational Education to be seen as ‘aspirational’. The changing societal mores and culture have bridged the gap to some extent with an increasing number of young people going in for vocations like beauticians, wellness coaches, therapists, specialized weavers, and so on. The startup platform businesses have also given a major fillip to vocations like electricians, certified plumbers, AC technicians, auto mechanics, and many more. The recognition and value of a specialized skill set and the dignity of labour are something that has come to the forefront now thanks to these tech startups. Shaping the Indian Youth The NRIs are very keen to do something more than just donating sums of money to their country or their Alma mater. In the constant search to add value and to seek meaningful and most beneficial initiatives, i stumbled upon Freedom Employability Academy(#FEA) FEA provided the right impetus and the access to coaching young minds based on their urban and rural program. It is indeed amazing that Mr Deepak Chopra, a successful US entrepreneur has built a network to provide education for free for the students to gain employment. I am part of the coaching and mentoring of these young minds, which are done over 5 focussed and purpose driven sessions enabling collaborative and interactive exchange between the mentor and the mentees.I could see myself and my own youth in those young people, full of aspirations and dreams. The sessions provide the students in rediscovering themselves, identifying their strengths, to think critically, understand complexities to simplify them and to pursue meaningful career paths More than 250K young minds  are trained to build productive and ethical mindsets, English language skills, and digital literacy skills.
