ORTEC's portable handheld Radioisotope Identification Devices (RIIDS), such as the Detective-X and RADEAGLET-R, are broadly recognized as industry leaders in rapid and accurate identifiers. But they are much more than just a "handheld" instrument! These devices can be remotely controlled through a simple web browser with the same interface as the instrument. They can also be programmatically controlled and data retrieved through the embedded Application Programming Interface (API) using custom developed software to automate remote measurements for mobile or fixed point applications. Today ORTEC & Princeton Applied Research and Solartron Analytical said goodbye to our summer Oak Ridge interns. Our intern participants more than doubled from 2023 and we were excited to have our very first non-engineering interns supporting our marketing and supply chain teams. From testing and validation, to creating Power BI dashboards, to updating user interfaces, our interns provided monumental strides in R&D, efficiency, and reporting for AMT while gaining incredible real-world experiences. We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to both our interns and their mentors for a successful summer. Best of luck to all of our interns returning to the University of Tennessee, Knoxville!

Screening personnel for internal radioactive contamination is common in the nuclear industry, as workers may be exposed through maintenance, fuel and waste processing, and plant operations.
