Reflecting on an Inspiring Day at AFBELive Conference 🌟 Yesterday, I had the privilege of attending the Association for Black and Minority Ethnic Engineers (AFBE-UK) conference, a full-day event brimming with insights, innovation, and inspiration. As a representative of UCL students, I was grateful for the opportunity extended to us by Professor Sudeshna Basu, and UCL. The conference, organized by AFBE-UK, served as a testament to their commitment to fostering higher achievements in education and engineering, especially among individuals from ethnic minority backgrounds. Through engaging seminars, workshops, and exhibitions, AFBE-UK is making tangible strides towards increasing diversity and inclusion within the engineering industry. One of the highlights of the day was the lineup of exceptional speakers who shared their expertise on various topics shaping the future of engineering. From discussions on AI and its ethical implications to conversations about sustainability, company culture, and inclusion, each keynote address and fireside chat left me with invaluable insights. Moreover, I had a chance to communicate with excellent companies such as GSK and Johnson Matthey during the exhibition. I left the conference feeling energized and optimistic about the future of engineering, knowing that initiatives like AFBELive are driving meaningful change and paving the way for a more diverse and inclusive industry. let's carry forward the momentum and continue championing diversity, inclusion, and belonging in all sectors of society. Together, we can truly make a difference. #AFBELive #DiversityInEngineering #InnovationForAll
