Sebjørn Dahl’s urge to design the most future proof ro-ro vessel back in 2020 has turned out as a key catalyst to the transformation of Höegh Autoliners . Our IPO in 2021 was made to raise funding for the first four 9100 ceu multi fuel ready Aurora class vessels. We came early and prepared to the newbuild race, and will meet 2027 with the most modern, cost effective and environmentally friendly car carrier fleet in the world. When we launched the Aurora project, no PCTC in the order book was larger than 7500 ceu and all vessels were conventionally designed. All new projects after our launch are 9000 ceu+ and have copied important elements of our design and as such confirmed the innovativeness. Except that escalating yard costs and delivery times have made most new projects cut back on real future fuel preparedness. With clean ammonia maturing a lot faster than expected as a shipping fuel, we look forward to leveraging the fuel optionality of the Aurora class to become a first mover on zero-carbon deep sea shipping. There is a lot of cheap talk on decarbonizing shipping, but at Höegh Autoliners actions speak louder than words!

In Denmark we're used to drink our water directly from the tap. However, drinking water is a limited resource that we must use carefully. What should we use drinking water for - and when can we use rainwater instead?💧
Professor Hans-Jørgen Albrechtsen from DTU Sustain has advised Aarhus Vand in a project where rainwater, drainage water, and surface water (secondary water) have been incorporated into the supply so that residents in the suburb of Nye use secondary water for toilet flushing and laundry. 🚽🧺
In the podcast 🎙️ “Vandkanten” https://lnkd.in/ddrgFA88Hans-Jørgen Albrechtsen and Kristian Brunmark from Aarhus Vand talk, among other things, about the dilemma society faces when using secondary water instead of drinking water.
The positive aspects of using secondary water in Nye are, for example:
🌿 The community used 40% less drinking water.
🌧️ Soft rainwater is more suitable for toilet flushing and laundry. It deposits less lime, requires less descaling/cleaning, and the washing machine lasts longer.
🏙️ The local area became more green and blue because water became integral to urban planning.
🌱 More nature came into the area because the rainwater was contained in lakes, along with animal and plant life.
👫 Residents took more responsibility for their water consumption.
⛈️ The area became less vulnerable to violent cloudbursts because the water was diverted and contained.
Aspects worth a second thought:
⚡ Cleaning secondary water requires more energy consumption, which results in extra CO2 emissions.
🔄 The cleaning must be more flexible, as the quality of the water varies more.
🧪 New and more chemicals must be used to clean the water, and the effect on those in the environment has to be assessed.
It's about balancing the positive gains regarding the drinking water resource against having to clean and treat secondary water differently or more than groundwater 🤔
So far all involved parties of this project see it as a step towards more sustainable use of our water ressources.

This seems like a clear indication that Ørsted believe that PtX is too early.
We also have to keep in mind that ørsted possibly just see a better business case by storing their biogenic CO2 by the sales of Carbon credits on the voluntary market.
One could imagine the the right way to move forward is
1. to expand the hydrogen production for direct fuel usage and
2. in parallel expand the CO2 capture and storage. At a later these two technologies can be combined in PtX.

Nedturen fortsætter for Ørsteds grønne brændstofeventyr.
Det bekræfter Ørsted over for Finans.
I december 2022 omtalte Ørsted Idomlund-projektet således:

This is a very Bad News from Ørsted.
It has thrown the towel and dropped the West Jutland billion-kroner project.
3 weeks after it closed the Swedish Prestige Project Flagship One with a loss of
DKK 1.8 Billion.
Likewise, GE Vernova, recently spewed Bad News when it pulled out from a 2.4GW offshore wind project off the coast of New Jersey as the Turbine supplier for the Leading Light Wind Project.
Let's Crack The Problem Out.
Windmill Farm Developers and Operators can't no longer continue to pretend they're doing well when in fact, their Balance Sheets and Profit Margins are ill.
Do you know their common culprit?. . . Their beloved Windmill Turbine.
We’ve been saying consistently that Windmill Turbine is a “DISASTER”
Know the critical details of Windmill Turbine's unfixable problems.
1. Onshore Windmill Farm Was A Bad Start.
Windmill Turbine was invented for milling centuries ago but repurposed for energy generation, a critical job unfit to perform. The wrong machine.
2. Offshore Windmill Farm Makes It Even Worst
Going offshore with a problematic machine built at a more problematic offshore site exacerbates the process from bad to worse.
3. The Windmill Turbine is Designed Weak and Built To Collapse
The life span of a windmill is just one hit away from moderate destructive winds because the design anatomy of windmill turbines is weak and helpless. it breaks consistently while operating at normal winds. What about a Hurricane attack?
4. Offshore Windmill Farms are Jacking up The Tariffs/ Pricing of electricity.
Policymakers have no choice but to approve the expensive proposal offered by the wind farm developers. The burden of paying the high cost is passed on to innocent consumers. Isn't it?
5. Destroys The Environment on Land And Sea.
Suffers NIMBYs, kills birds and sea mammals. Offshore Windmill farms massively destroy the Marine domains, but the worst is, they endanger maritime navigation once hurricanes destroy the offshore wind structures into pieces at sea. Like in the Vineyard case.
6. All Stakeholders Are Losers.
The windmill industry have been losing billions. The government is hurt by excessive subsidies, and consumers are trapped with expensive bills.
There is no winner.
WE HAVE A BETTER ALTERNATIVE WIND TURBINE TECHNOLOGY
Our 30MW Rollie Wind Turbine has solved all the listed problems and far beyond. The components are simple to manufacture and easy to assemble. The turbine is quick to build low installations 60-80M tall only, along windy coastlines (Onshore). Occupies 1Ha. of land area per 30MW turbine. Cheap to maintain. Can survive 300KPH Super Typhoons.
Let's compare the Cost to Build Per MW:
Our 30MW Rollie Wind turbine at US$ 2.0 - 2.2M
-Versus-
Onshore Windmill Farms at US$ 3.0- 3.5 Per MW
Offshore Windmill Farms at US$ 5.0- 6.0M Per MW
Join us, let’s do it right.
Let's build a 30MW Turbine Pilot.
We are a partner, not a competitor.

"The development of Danish agriculture is a shared responsibility 🤝
The green tripartite is currently in full swing with discussions on a green tax reform, and at Danish Crown, we look forward to contributing our share of responsibility - in fact, we are already actively involved.
But when it comes to discussing the contribution and responsibility of agriculture in Denmark, I believe there is a need for more nuance in the debate. A very good example is the much-debated low-lying areas. So let me take you on a little journey through history.
In the 20th century, low-lying areas were seen as a resource that could increase agricultural production - not only for agriculture itself but also for the state. In 1940, the Danish Parliament established a committee with the aim of reclaiming additional agricultural land by draining lakes, embanking fjords, and regulating rivers.
This was instrumental in Denmark having as much as 170,000 hectares of low-lying areas in 2010. Since then, the area has been reduced by over 30 percent, and today there are approximately 118,000 hectares remaining.
The point is that the climate problem posed by low-lying areas, which we have since learned about, is not solely created by agriculture. It is more nuanced than that because it is a shared responsibility - and therefore, rolling back the effort should also be a shared responsibility.
Agriculture is not lacking the will to take responsibility and contribute. But it also requires political willingness to provide compensation to landowners who need to give up areas.
I have written more about all of this in today's edition of Børsen.

On the topic of solidarity in a time of climate- and economic crisis,we think it's very important for architects and professionals in the building industry to design and implement climate solutions such as retrofitting or adapting to the consequences of global warming.
Small practices like ours are particularly vulnerable in times like these, and today Oslo arkitektforening is hosting a debate on the topic of architects in crisis. We hope this can be a catalyst to build solidarity and a new way forward, together!
Did you know that it takes between 30 to 60 years, before we have clean drinking water again in many of the drinking water wells that are affected by pollution today?💧
Groundwater contamination can be a long-term issue, often requiring decades to naturally cleanse, especially in cases of significant pollution.
This lengthy process is due to the slow movement of groundwater and the time it takes for natural filtration and dilution to remove contaminants.
Active remediation efforts can sometimes speed up this process, but they are often costly and complex.
Do you agree that it is wise to be careful with how we use our water resources?
