🌱 Calorie restriction can be a major factor in improving longevity and good aging, according to studies from the National Institute on Aging (NIA). Here are several ways that cutting calories without being malnourished might improve your health: 🔬 Enhanced Cellular Health- Calorie restriction helps to maintain the proper functioning of cells by reducing cellular damage and promoting repair mechanisms. 🚶🏻 Better Metabolic Health- Reducing calories can lower insulin sensitivity and lower the chance of developing metabolic disorders including obesity and diabetes. 💊 Decreased Inflammation- Many age-related disorders are mostly caused by chronic inflammation. It has been demonstrated that calorie restriction lowers systemic inflammation and encourages better aging. 🧬 Increased Lifespan- Research on animals has often shown that calorie restriction can increase lifespan. Current studies are being conducted to see if this is also true for humans. The dietary modifications can prolong the years of healthy living, as these studies demonstrate. The biology of aging may be understood and used to our advantage to help us create plans to live better as we age.🧪 Let's continue investigating how easy lifestyle modifications, such as controlling calories and eating mindfully, can lead to a longer and better life. 🌟 #Prevealth #HealthTech #Longevity #AgingResearch #CalorieRestriction #Wellness #HealthyAging Reference: https://lnkd.in/gxuNGYTj

Could olive oil consumption be associated with a lower risk of dementia-related death? A prospective study of 90,000 healthcare professionals found that higher olive oil intake was associated with a reduced risk of dementia-related mortality. Consuming at least 7 g of olive oil daily was linked to a 28% lower risk of dementia-related death over 28 years of follow-up. While researchers reveal how current dietary guidelines regarding fats are mainly based on evidence related to cardiovascular health, this study contributes to supporting guidelines recommending choosing oils such as olive oil, but extends these recommendations to brain-related health. https://lnkd.in/g9zCHZ6J I #AlzheimersDisease #BrainHealth #DigitalHealth #ClinicalTrials #DementiaResearch #Dementia MedPage Today

Continuous Glucose Monitors and Their Impact on Longevity 🩺Continuous Glucose Monitors (CGMs) use a small sensor under the skin to measure glucose levels in the interstitial fluid. CGMs are crucial for diabetics as they offer detailed glucose patterns. For non-diabetics, they help identify dietary and lifestyle factors affecting glucose stability. This can help reduce inflammation, oxidative stress, and cellular damage, which are linked to aging. ✨ Stable glucose levels reduce the risks of cardiovascular diseases, dementia, and cancer. CGMs help users adjust their diet to avoid glucose spikes and incorporate healthier food options. Proactive Health Management 🌟Detect and address health issues early 🌟Prevent long-term health problems 🌟Make informed decisions about diet, exercise, and lifestyle CGMs empower users with real-time data, promoting better health and potentially reducing the risk of age-related diseases. #Longevity #Wellness #HealthTech #Lifespire
