Degenerate gamblers are addicted to losing not winning. They say it’s the high from losing that keeps them going, not the fleeting joy of the wins along the way. I’ve noticed something similar in #startup founders and #entrepreneurs. When you ask them to tell their stories, or offer advice, it’s never about the big wins, it’s almost always about the giant F-ups they’ve made, the scars and lessons learned along the way. Maybe we’re all just a bunch of degenerate gamblers.

This is one of the first blogs I wrote, back when not many people visited FounderON. So I thought I would share it again, as one of the most common questions I get asked is about how due diligence was. I just re-read the blog myself and it brought back lots of memories, and to be honest made me a little bit exhausted. Such as amazing process to be able to experience. But also such a head f*ck. I filed 4 domain names last year during VeeCon. This year, 2 of those domain names are live supporting 2 different businesses in my ecosystem. I am sharing as much as I can along my journey to leave the bread crumbs for the builders who come behind me. When Gary says he's "in the dirt," I am right there with him, minus the content team and the money! I run my businesses and I build and schedule all of my own content. I still do a lot of things in my business that aren't in my wheelhouse because I have to. I am a baby builder. 👶 But the early stage lessons are where it's at. And it's where most people are.
