What is it like to work for an ACMI airline? Is it worth it? 🤔 Over the last few weeks, many friends of mine , aviation colleagues and also aspiring Cabin Crew did ask me this questions. I started my career in Aviation in 2018 and at that time, I’ve never considered joining an ACMI company. Nowadays, I can say that I’m really happy to fly for Avion Express ☺️ Let’s discuss a few things! 🌍 Lifestyle: In Avion Express, every month we get a different base ( Pilots and Cabin Crew). This allows you to travel and explore different countries. Isn't this amazing? 👩✈️ Career: There are a lot of career growth opportunities. If you decide that you are tired of flying, you can also choose a different path, as an Instructor for example. 🏠 What about home? After every rotation, we always go home for some days because rest is also important. As we are an ACMI company, winter is usually a quiet time for us (Cabin Crew) , so during the winter months (November-March) you can expect to spend longer periods at home. This doesn't apply to Pilots and it always depends of the operational requirements. Two days as a flight attendant on a long-haul flight!👨✈️🛫 Last week, I had the privilege of joining the Lufthansa cabin crew on their flights from Munich to New York and back as an IT employee at Lufthansa Systems. I experienced the crew processes on the ground and in the air, and I also assisted in economy class with serving and cleanup. As a two-way exchange, I explained a little about our #IT to the crew during the breaks and gave them an insight into new projects. And all this at a cruising altitude of 36,000 ft - and not in the basement as usual. 👨💻 Thanks again to the whole #crew for the great experience and insights and to Sebastian for making it all possible.
