Today we're thrilled to see Ilke Borowski - Maaser as a speaker at the joint meeting of #European Network of #Environmental Authorities and #Energy Managing Authorities Network in Madrid where she’s presented #TOPSOIL as a #bestpractice example, highlighting the impact of the Interreg North Sea Programme in implementing #waterresilience through #cohesionpolicy. The #TOPSOIL project tackled one of the most pressing challenges of #climatechange #adaptation by jointly identifying and testing solutions to protect, enhance, and improve the potential of our precious groundwater. Two important aspects in today's presentation highlighted the collaborative research with #TEM technology and the close #stakeholderengagement with farmers. As a result of the project, many changes have been intitiated to create a safer, more climate-resilient environment. Moreover, Blue Transition is now building further on the knowledge gained and continues to work on balancing water and land use to minimize the negative effects of #climatechange. #transnationalcooperation #impact #capitalisation #wearethenorthsea Ludo Holsbeek, Dr.Sc. A-Track is a new four-year, €11 million project that will accelerate action for nature by business, financial institutions and government. A-Track is working with leading thought leaders and practitioners who have been driving change in the measurement and valuation of natural capital and biodiversity. Existing tools and approaches are being brought together and developed further to enable businesses, financial intuitions, and governments to accelerate action for nature. As a partner in A-Track, we are looking forward to working with the consortium to accelerate the use of natural capital approaches in decision making across Europe. Our role in the consortium includes developing biodiversity information pathways. Our aim is to demonstrate how the combination of private and public sector information can be used to support decision making and the use of various applications at corporate and government levels. We are looking forward to collaborating with the Capitals Coalition, VITO, TECNALIA Research & Innovation, Oppla, UNEP-WCMC, University of Stuttgart, Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL), ICAEW and the WBCSD – World Business Council for Sustainable Development. 📢 New post in our website! Since the European Commission's (EC) Seventh Framework Programme (FP7), research and innovation funding programmes #Horizon2020 and #HorizonEurope have made significant strides to foster continuous #StakeholderEngagement for co-creation and increased acceptance of solutions for a #WaterSmartSociety. 💡 Based on the experiences of the #CIRSEAU cluster, a set of recommendations to the EC have been developed to help continue foster and strengthen stakeholder engagement in #EUFunded inter- and trans-disciplinary (ITD) research and innovation projects. 💭 These recommendations are derived from guiding principles and actions for researchers and practitioners on effective stakeholder engagement practices collected from 35 case studies and from other sustainability ITD research projects involving partners of the CIRSEAU cluster. 👀 Read the recommendation brief here: https://lnkd.in/eddaVBSK 🤝The CIRSEAU cluster consists of 5 sister projects, B-WaterSmart Project, REWAISE EU project, ULTIMATE Water EU , WATER-MINING H2020 and WIDER UPTAKE EU Project, demonstrating the feasibility of a #watersmart economy and society, in which all available water resources, including surface, groundwater, wastewater, and process water are managed to avoid #waterscarcity and #pollution, increase #resilience to #climatechange, appropriately manage water-related risks, and ensure that all valuable substances that could be obtained from #wastewater treatment processes, or are embedded in used water streams, are recovered.

#CAREC_news On April 2, the Nexus Game was organized at the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University (ENU) within the framework of the discipline “Integrated Water Resources Management”. The game was attended by 1st year undergraduates of the Faculty of Natural Sciences specializing in Environmental Protection and Rational Use of Natural Resources. The game has become an effective tool for understanding the basics of managing water, energy and food resources in order to achieve sustainable development in the region. The participants actively worked to meet the water needs of the population, industry and agriculture, while simultaneously finding solutions to the challenges posed by climate change. Analyzing various scenarios of the seasons, the students mastered the methods of rational use of water resources to ensure the well-being of the population. In addition, the participants of the game discussed the management of transboundary water bodies located downstream and upstream, and reached a compromise in joint use. #NexusCentralAsia #CAREC #EU #environment #NexusGame #USAID #USAIDWAVE
