🌿 ASHRAE Decarb news! ASHRAE had expanded its commitment reducing of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in the built environment by transitioning its building decarbonization task force into the Center of Excellence for Building Decarbonization (CEBD). The goal of the new Center of Excellence for Building Decarbonization is to accelerate the adoption of climate change mitigation policies and reinforce ASHRAE's commitment to achieving net zero GHG emissions in operation for all new buildings by 2030. Learn more about the CEBD at ashrae.org/decarb 🌱 #MyASHRAE
ASHRAE is way out of its lane. It has no climate scientists and will just bow to any consensus that comes along. Not the way engineers are taught to think. Do you realize most of our current climate problems are due to net-zero efforts? Solar panels are burning up the atmosphere.
Congratulations and we are thrilled in the improvements and evolution ashrae is constantly under ⭐ Proud to have Christina Herbers, P.Eng, LEED has president in ASHRAE NAC
Great news! Looking forward to visiting the ASHRAE HO in Nov 2024 regards Ashok Virmani
Exciting times!

3wCan you elaborate on the kind of impact that is expected by 2030 when we say "net zero GHG emissions"? in all buildings? by 2030? seriously? Are we talking net zero GWP of refrigerants? Are we shifting gears to adoption of natural refrigerants? CO2; CO2/Ammonia cascade system, HFO's, or Propane for AC? or do we intent to achive net zero GHG emissions with the current HVAC manufacturers pushed R32 and R45B and the likes? Unless we accelerate the adoption of natural ultra-low GWP refrigerants in the US, net zero GHG emissions is not likely to ever happen. We'd be lucky if we achieve net zero GHG emissions by 2050.
