Today marks one year since our CEO Gary Cass took the helm at Broste Rivers. And what a first year it has been! Under Gary’s leadership we have undergone a wave of transformative change that has reset and reshaped our business. He has challenged norms and traditions and given the team strategic direction and a real focus and drive on delivering technical excellence and great customer service. Gary has steered us through times of unprecedented change in the building control and wider construction industry with a clear vision and a steady hand, ensuring we adapt and build for the future. Some of the highlights of his first year at Broste Rivers include: BCC Consultancy: We brought to market BCC Consultancy. Only six months in and we are already delivering building control expertise on significant projects for some of the UK’s biggest developers including Berkeley Group Plc Taylor Wimpey plc, Tilbury Douglas & VINCI Construction. Board Advisors: We recently welcomed new board advisors Paul Nash Gavin Dunn and Judith Fear - outstanding individuals who bring a wealth of experience and insight to help shape and guide our strategic direction. A crucible of talent: We've strengthened our senior leadership team with key appointments. They have added energy and expertise to complement and strengthen the team. We have also taken on more apprentices to supplement those already coming through the business. They are our future leaders and will drive our business and industry forward. Competencies: We have focussed on competency. All our building inspectors are registered and 26 have achieved Level 2 registration and above. We currently have 6 at Level 3 / 4. We are proud to be counted among the highly qualified teams in the country. New technologies: We have invested in market-leading inspection software to enable our inspection team to deliver first-class reporting and additional customer service. Award Winning: We were recognised and rewarded for our great work. At the most recent LABC Awards, we won three prestigious industry awards, a testament to our commitment to excellence. As we look forward to Year Two, we're excited about the opportunities ahead and the continued success we will achieve together. Underpinning all that is our objective“to lead the compliance process, ensuring our customers and communities benefit from good quality, safe, sustainable buildings.” #buildingcontrol #leadership #growth #success #innovation #BBCConsultancy #LABCAwards #teamwork #anniversary Hertfordshire Building Control Build Insight BCC Adaptations BCC Consultancy

Yesterday John Grill Institute convened the launch of the Major Projects Reform Roadmap exploring opportunities to enhance the major project sector in Australia, including reforms to focus on #outcomes, boost #productivity and ensure #collaboration During the launch, Tim Parker noted that existing standard contract forms - such as GC21 - can often start standard however are often quickly piled on with amendments and become 3-4 times the length and complexity of standard. Conversely, David Watt FRICS GAICD pointed to the role that 'new' (thirty years in the market) models like NEC Contracts® can play in providing a 'massive step forward'. He pointed to how its crucial to have the option available to use tools and frameworks like NEC in place to support consistent, leading approaches. This discussion aligns with a focus of the Roadmap which features nine key recommendations including: Transparency and accountability: Refine project operating models, contract frameworks and organisation designs to incorporate processes that embed a ‘no-surprise’ culture including early warnings, regular checkpoints, negotiated agreements, protocols for dealing with contentious issues (Outside litigation). Consideration should be given to the use of standardised contracts, such as NEC, to enable this approach. Our Q1 2024 programs are curated to address the core requirements of PPP practitioners to understand the evolving dynamics of the PPP ecosystem. Incomplete or faulty DPR (Detailed Project Report) / Pre-Feasibility Report has been causing major issues for PPP projects in the long-run. This is one of the core objectives with which we have structured our Masterclass to help enable the participants understand the nuances of structuring a comprehensive DPR / Pre-Feasibility Report. PPP leaders need to keep up with the evolving pace of change in global markets and our program on 'Understanding Next-Gen PPPs' just serves the right purpose in helping the leadership transform. The 2 Online Programs are targeted to build on the functional and operational expertise of PPP practitioners in two of the most crucial areas of Financial Modeling and Contracts Management & Dispute Resolution. The programs certainly promise an immersive learning experience using case studies and tapping in to the rich experience of the facilitators.
