We raised €500K in 1 month for 4 Sports and Media Startups Despite the prevailing tough market conditions, I'm thrilled to share that we've successfully secured €500,000 for four startups in the sports and media industries, with twice that amount on the horizon. When I speak to founders they almost without exception tell me they are struggling to raise. And to be honest, a lot of the times it's very clear why they are failing.. Below the 5 points which work for me! 1. Storytelling is Everything. Don't just sell your product; sell your vision. Share why you started, what sets you apart, and how each investor is crucial to your journey. Connecting emotionally with investors can turn interest into commitment. 2. Leverage Your Network. The right introductions can make all the difference. Cultivate your network continuously—remember, the most impactful opportunities often come from a warm intro. 3. Build a Stellar Team. Surround yourself with top talent who believe in your mission as much as you do. Empower them, trust them, and most importantly, start now. Every moment counts, and procrastination can be the enemy of opportunity. 4. Be Bold. Entrepreneurship is not for the faint-hearted. It requires bold, decisive actions—whether that's stepping onto the stage, closing a challenging deal, or investing back into your business aggressively. Comfort zones are the limits within which dreams fade. 5. Talk to the Right People. Developing a valuable network takes time but start by identifying and connecting with key influencers who can accelerate your growth. Compared to start-ups, it's easier and more fun to manage a brand that has grown to an extent. But what matters most is keeping things fresh, innovating within a set structure, and falling in love with the brand daily. While working with an established brand is sweet, there is this active energy, constant input, a determined pursuit of growth, and the fire of building when you work with start-ups.
