These communities endure higher rates of malnutrition, infectious diseases, and chronic illnesses, exacerbated by geographic isolation, discrimination, and limited access to healthcare. The 2018 Tribal Health Report highlighted these challenges and recommended creating Tribal Health Councils and targeted action plans. However, a lack of comprehensive health data continues to hinder efforts to address their specific needs. Jasmine emphasizes that to bridge these gaps, India must adopt culturally sensitive health policies and actively involve indigenous communities in health governance to ensure lasting change and equitable healthcare for all.
