March is Workplace Eye Wellness month. Did you know that approximately 2,000 workers will experience a job-related eye injury each day? Ninety percent of these incidents could be avoided by wearing eye protection. Most eye related injuries on the job are a result of flying objects, sharp tools, chemicals, and particles and sparks. Protect your eyes while on the job by wearing protective eye wear whenever possible. Eye strain is also a common ailment in the workplace. The good news is, you can ease this strain by siting at an arm’s length from your computer, adjust the lighting and increase the contrast of your screen or device, and by using artificial tears to refresh your eyes when they feel dry. Lastly, practicing the 20-20-20 rule can help!
