Aurora Energy Metals is pleased to be featured in Mining Journal’s “Uranium Outlook 2023” report. #1AE holds the largest mineable measured #uranium deposit in the United States. Large in scale, well-defined and presenting low geological risk, managing director, Greg Cochran sees the project’s clear pathway to development as a differentiator. The #ASX-listed company’s two-state #development strategy will see mining the deposit in southern Oregon, and processing the ore in a plant to be situated just across the border, on private land, in Nevada. The location of the plant takes advantage of the nearby hydroelectricity fed powerline, as well as an existing paved road with access to the US 95 highway. #Nevada, an acknowledged leading #mining jurisdiction, also has a more straightforward and well-established permitting procedure. I'm pleased to share an article I was lucky enough to co-author with Mona M. Forster, MBA, ICD.D: "Navigating net zero: Opportunities and challenges" published in this month’s Canadian Mining Magazine. The article discusses the critical role junior explorers and miners play in the global transition to a low-carbon economy. The exploration of critical minerals (for example copper, lithium, nickel and cobalt) by junior miners is at the headwaters of the value chain of almost all "clean technologies” such as EVs, wind turbines, rechargeable batteries and solar. Critical minerals exploration is a low emission activity in general, with little to no environmental or social footprint. However, junior explorers and developers are still coming under intense scrutiny from both investors and regulatory authorities. Key insights in the article include: *Regulatory and Investor Landscape: An examination of the evolving regulatory demands and investor expectations for transparent climate-related disclosures and sustainable practices. *Challenges and Opportunities: The unique challenges faced by junior miners, from physical and transition risks to technological and regulatory hurdles, and the opportunities they present for innovation and strategic positioning. *Technological Innovations and Industry Support: The role of tools and frameworks like PDAC's GHG calculator and e3 Plus in aiding junior mining companies to manage their carbon emissions and align with sustainability goals. *Strategic Implications: The importance of integrating sustainability into business strategies for long-term competitive advantage, investor attraction, and compliance with national and international goals. Getting started does not need to be expensive! There are a number of things that junior mining company executives can do that will not only fit within existing budgets but should start adding value immediately. Martin Hunter Michael Hall Mona M. 🌍 **Exploration vs. Mining Budgets: A Strategic Balance for a Green Future** 🌍 When it comes to budgeting in the mining industry, there's a clear distinction between exploration and mining budgets. Mining budgets are often seen as a safer bet, offering a 100% guarantee of profit once operations begin. This assurance naturally drives higher investment, leading to ever-increasing mining budgets. On the other hand, exploration budgets tell a different story. Exploration is inherently risky; the success rate can vary dramatically, from nearly zero in some cases to very high in favorable scenarios, such as iron ore (Fe). This uncertainty often leads to cautious investment, resulting in lower exploration budgets. However, as the world shifts from fossil fuels to green energy, this approach needs a rethink. 🌱 The transition to renewable energy sources requires the discovery of new mineral deposits essential for technologies like electric vehicles and solar panels. Without a significant increase in exploration budgets worldwide, we risk falling short of the raw materials needed to power a sustainable future. Investing in exploration today is an investment in tomorrow's green energy transition. Let's strike a balance between guaranteed profits and the potential for groundbreaking discoveries that will drive the global economy forward. 🌍🔋💼 #Mining #Exploration #GreenEnergy #Sustainability #Investment #FutureForward #CopperProcessing #MiningIndustry #MineralProcessing #Hydrometallurgy #Pyrometallurgy #Sustainability #MiningTechnology #Metallurgy #CopperMining #OxideOres #SulfideOres #Leaching #Flotation #GlobalEconomy #ResourceOptimization #EngineeringExcellence #Manufacturing #MineralResources #InnovationInMining #EnergyEfficiency #MetalProduction #CopperCathodes #MineralProcessing #GreenEnergy #ColumnFlotation #SustainableMining #EnergyEfficiency #EnvironmentalImpact #MiningInnovation #FutureOfMining #MineralProcessing #SkillsDevelopment #LaboratorySkills #Metallurgy #MetallurgicalTraining #ProcessingExperts #ProcessIndustry #ProcessingEfficiency #ProfessionalDevelopment #SiteSpecificTraining

Culpeo Minerals Ltd. (ASX:CPO, OTCQB:CPORF, BUY (S), Taylor Combaluzier) reported rock-chip sampling results from the La Florida prospect of its Fortuna Cu project in Chile. All 14 samples collected returned anomalous grades of up to 3.96% Cu and 2.61 g/t Au, delineating a N-S trending Cu-Au porphyry over an area of 1.7km x 0.5km. Notably, mineralization is analogous to that identified at Culpeo’s Lana Corina project, located ~10km to the north. A follow-up infill sampling program is planned to further define drill targets at La Florida. Meanwhile, we look forward to the results from the 2023 drilling at the El Quillay prospect and the initial drill program underway at the Vaca Muerta prospect. As Norway leads the way in approving deep-sea mining due to the growing demand for essential minerals in the energy transition, concerns arise among scientists about severe environmental impacts. The Clarion-Clipperton zone in the Pacific Ocean, rich in minerals, faces potential irreversible harm. The UK, Sweden, and Ireland oppose deep-sea mining, while Norway supports it. The International Seabed Authority (ISA) grapples with finalizing regulations by 2025, determining the fate of deep-sea mining in international waters. #mining #miningindustry #miningnews #metals #deepseamining #deepsea #news #energytransition #energy Report by The Guardian https://lnkd.in/edx_r2xj

Exploring the Future of Lithium Mining: Upcoming Milestones and Resource Increase Investors, get ready! As part of our de-risking and valuation process, we have some exciting milestones on the horizon. 🌍 We recently completed additional drilling and expect a significant resource increase by September. This confidence stems from our work with a clay deposit, similar to coal, with a geophysical signature we've precisely mapped. 📊 When we drill into this clay horizon, it consistently holds high-grade lithium. 🔍 A couple of weeks ago, we announced the intersection of the same high-grade lithium-bearing clay horizon further south, extending the strike length by about a kilometer. This extension promises a substantial increase in our already world-class resource. Stay tuned for September's updates—this could be a major catalyst for all! 🎙 Full Speech from Graham Harris at Rick Rule Symposium: https://bit.ly/4fp8Q5q (🇨🇦 $NILI | 🇺🇸 $NILIF | 🇩🇪 DJ5C) #EVs #Lithium #BatteryTech #Nevada #Energy

**The Metals Company plans to submit deep-sea mining license in 2024** - Canada-based the Metals Company (TMC) plans to apply for a deep-sea mining license within the current year. - TMC's intentions coincide with ongoing international discussions in Jamaica to establish a regulatory framework for seabed mining. - The International Seabed Authority (ISA), sponsored by the United Nations, is working to finalize a "mining code" to govern the extraction of seabed resources like polymetallic nodules. - The ISA council, meeting until 26 July 2024, aims to complete formal regulations before mining begins, with completion anticipated in the following year. - TMC's move has sparked debate, particularly among environmental groups concerned about marine biodiversity, while TMC argues seabed mining is less harmful than land-based mining and crucial for obtaining essential elements for the energy transition. #mining #mineralexploration #mineralprocessing
