Despite high production costs, bio-LNG is fundamentally economical thanks to the GHG reduction quota. John Cosmo Dwelle from biomethane trader Landwärme GmbH, Christian Schneider from the petrol station chain ViGo Bioenergy and Maximilian Ruhe, whose family business produces bio-LNG locally, all agreed on this. 👉 "With this instrument, we are able to put bio-LNG on the market at fossil LNG prices," said Dwelle. In his eyes, it would be even easier if the customers' willingness to pay were different. This would bring a "certain cloudiness" to the market. Vigo Bioenergy, which fills almost all of its thirty-two German refuelling stations with bio-LNG, can now offer this at a lower price than diesel, Schneider also emphasised. The #worldbiggest #manufacturer of #shippingcontainers sees a surge in revenues from its #hydrogen business, in a sign the #cleanfuel is starting to gain commercial traction. China International Marine Containers (Group) Co., Ltd makes #electrolysers that can produce #hydrogen, as well as #storagecontainers for the gas. It generated about 1 billion yuan ($139 million) of sales from those activities last year, according to the company’s Vice President Li Yinhui. Why hydrogen-based e-fuels are on the rise. By Edward Laity As transport-based oil demands begin to decline from 2026 due to efficiency improvements and the uptake of alternative, environmentally friendly methods¹, the mobility market has opened up to an array of solutions. The alternative fuel-powered vehicle market is expected to keep increasing its hold on the automotive industry, valued at $634.5bn in 2022 and projected to grow at an annual growth rate of 10% between 2022 and 2032². After seeing an increase in production, supply and end-use in 2023, the idea of e-fuels, or electro fuels, in the industry is a understood to be a realistic option, and they can be traced back to as early as the 1920s. https://lnkd.in/dxvniHwa
