Last week involved four workshops in four cities (picture of the amazing Lavery lawyers in Quebec City below!). Here are a few key perspectives/takeaways from the discussions in those professional development workshops: 1) There’s no such thing as a stupid question, but there are stupid ways and times to ask a question 2) Respond to emails even if it’s just to confirm you saw it, and let them know when you’ll get back to them 3) People want more feedback from their peers, but we rarely ask our peers for their feedback (try asking a peer what they think your blind spot is) 4) If you can’t deliver excellent quality work, don’t take it on. And if you did commit to the work, get it done right. 50% baked deliverables are usually useless. Geneviève Langelier Anaïs Gascon-Vaillancourt, LL.L. Stephanie Sullivan Kelsey Cleland loved seeing you last week! #EQ #professionaldevelopment #workshops #publicspeaking

We are excited for tomorrow's The GC Index accreditation. As Master Partners in the region, 33 Emeralds runs a two half-day virtual training in the ground-breaking The GC Index. It also includes 3 free practice links to use with candidates of your choice. The GC Index maps innovation potential and builds game changing, future-ready teams. But the applications are so much wider than that. With the Index we have the data to tackle these kinds of questions: 💪 How do we grow our impact as a team? 📈 What are our gaps and risk areas, and how can we turn these into opportunities? 🗣 What can we do to enhance communication and collaboration? 📊 How can we grow our business through our people? 💡 I am in transition with my career – what’s next for me? 💠 What is the profile of our high potential talent? Do we have the diversity we need to drive the change/transformation we need? It is too late to sign up for September, but October still has places. :) Visit the website here for 2024 dates, or to book a call about using this profiling tool: https://lnkd.in/dZtsk66G #thegcindex #gamechanger #teams #leaders #innovation Greg McHendrie Monique Hayward

I’ve just finished two days at one of Paul Avins‘ scale up business workshops (have a look if you want a really amazing business coach and to be amongst inspiring people!). We had to introduce ourselves and the organisations we lead. I was dreading it (public speaking…..!). When I was up there it came easily. I talked about the recent growth of the group and our exciting plans for the year ahead (also the challenges of being in the international educational travel sector during the Covid pandemic!). It made me think carefully about what we’re building, and what we think makes us really BRILLIANT to work with. At UKLC last year the team came up with an updated set of our company values (the other businesses in the group will do the same soon!). They aren’t just words on a page (or the walls, yet); they shape how we support our students, engage with our partners, and grow as a team. ✅ We care – about our students, our team, and the experiences we create. ✅ We build and maintain trust – essential in everything we do. ✅ We make a difference – in the lives of young people through life-changing study travel. ✅ We create fun, life-enhancing experiences – because learning should be memorable. ✅ We are living leaders – constantly evolving and inspiring growth. ✅ We actively encourage growth – for our students, our team, and our business. It was useful to pause and reflect on these today and how they drive our success. And if you’ve worked with us, I hope you recognise these values in the team (isn’t that their real test?!) #CompanyValues #ELT #Education #Teamwork #UKLC

Mentor. Learn. Sponsor; Transform Lives In 2021, I stumbled upon an advert on this platform, calling for candidates to apply for the Nigerian Chambers of Commerce Dispute Resolution Centre (NCCDRC) Mentorship Programme. Intriguingly I applied. It was the first time I had the opportunity at applying for a formal mentorship. That decision marked a pivotal moment in my professional journey as I had the opportunity to connect with mentors who were ready to guide and support young and aspiring ADR enthusiasts. Fast forward to 2024, sitting as the Registrar General of the NCC-DRC, I had the privilege of guiding and overseeing the 3rd Mentorship Series. Witnessing the transformation of mentees and their growth reaffirms the power of mentorship in shaping lives and careers. The NCCDRC is now calling for the 4th Mentorship Series, an opportunity for aspiring minds to learn, grow, and make a difference in the field of dispute resolution. Are you ready to take this step? Read the information on the flier for a guide to applying for an invaluable opportunity to grow and connect with like minds. #Mentorship #DisputeResolution #NCCDRC #Transformation #Growth
