Here are my 3 C’s of why I am attending Corporate Jet Investor London 2024 - Content, Contacts and Context. 😌Content- Both in and outside the conference hall you will learn information that is hard to find anywhere else. Issues like sustainability are being tackled head on this year, challenging assumptions and calling us all all to action. 📇Contacts - This is the industry forum where you get to meet the people who make an impact in this industry. A chance to connect and reconnect. Leadership happens here as concerns are raised and discussed. New ideas, products, services and opportunities can start here with thoughtful discussions. The generosity of attendees in welcoming each other is what has always stood out for me. 🌦️Context - CJI is a chance to reset your contextual understanding of an industry that is changing. I was delighted to attend last week's Farnborough International Airshow to engage with the representatives of leading aerospace companies and to promote the Polish aerospace and aviation sector. Thousands of exhibitors and guests descended on the halls and surrounding grounds of the Farnborough airport (these days servicing business aviation) for five days of exchanges, networking and measuring the pulse of this critically important industry in these uncertain, turbulent times. In particular, I had the honour to inaugurate an event showcasing the Polish Aviation Valley - Aviation Valley | Dolina Lotnicza - a cluster of aviation companies both small and large, now in the third decade of development. In my opening remarks I said: "→ The Polish aviation industry spans well over 80 years of scientific and engineering work, centred in Poland’s south-east regions. Cities like Świdnik or Mielec are the cradles of Polish aviation and innovation. Last year, the Polish Aviation Valley, with Rzeszów as its centre, celebrated 20 years since its inception. → The region has since become a crucible of various undertakings involving international business partners. It was not a lucky coincidence, but rather a matter of a conscious choice. The Aviation Valley owes its remarkable success to the combination of factors: highly skilled engineering staff, a deep pool of talent attracted by leading academic and scientific institutions, as well as a pro-business mindset of local authorities. → As a result, today the Aviation Valley is an indispensable part of not just local, but national economy. It contributes to Poland’s image as a country of innovation and engineering prowess, on par with similar clusters around the globe." These words of praise are well deserved! I am grateful to the hosts Aviation Valley | Dolina Lotnicza and Farnborough Aerospace Consortium, as well as Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH) London Office for the opportunity to represent Embassy of the Republic of Poland in London at this important event. Special thanks go out to Rafal Owczarek and Karol Cienkus, Ph.D. I will finish on a more personal note: it was great fun to once again, albeit for just one day, to become part of the global community of aviation and aerospace professionals. Indeed, aviation sector was one of my specialties when working for the U.S. Commercial Service some ten years ago (a big shout out to Brenda VanHorn, my boss at that time!). This experience really helped to keep up with the industry representatives as they presented their products and solutions!

As we gear up for Giving Tuesday on November 28th, we're thrilled to share a week of exclusive insights and stories from our Inducted Members. These narratives are the heartbeat of Canada's Aviation Hall of Fame, stories and insights we're passionate about preserving for the enjoyment and inspiration of generations to come. 1. As the president of the Canadian Business Aviation Association (CBAA), what significance does receiving the Belt of Orion Award for Excellence hold for the organization? How does this honor align with the mission and values of the CBAA? Success today comes from the foundation we built yesterday. The Belt of Orion Award helps us remember the work of the individuals both in our industry and in the association to advance our business aviation sector. We remain the voice of business aviation today and in the future, and our success will result from that collective effort. 2. In light of this recognition, what legacy does the CBAA aim to leave within the aviation and aerospace industries? How does the organization plan to build on its contributions to further impact and inspire future developments in the field? It’s important to remind yourself that your job is to “leave the campsite better than when you found it.” So much of today and the future is changing, so the work the association must undertake to address the concerns our members identify today and the changes necessary to ensure a successful future is critical. We do this by staying connected to our members and being their voice in the places they can’t otherwise be to bring about the change necessary for our success. 3. Considering your experiences and the achievements of CBAA, what guidance would you offer to aspiring individuals and organizations entering the aviation and aerospace sectors? How can they contribute meaningfully to the industry's growth and innovation? I think it’s important to remember that, at its core, Aviation exists to solve the connection problem. In other words, we move people and goods to where they need to be. So, at its core, you want to be someone who looks to solve these problems. This, however, is just the micro level. At the macro level, the industry has many connected pieces that must work together to achieve this mission of safely, reliably, and efficiently solving the connection problem. So, besides being someone who looks to solve problems, you also need to understand your role within that system and how you can influence and move it in a better direction.
