Aditya Gupta always shares valuable thoughts. Of course, as organisers, we have a different view of the fair than our exhibitors (at least in parts 😉). But, and this is the interesting point, our conclusions are the same in this case! 1) Sustainability is also becoming more and more important for us trade fair organisers from year to year. And it is a criteria for many external organisers when choosing a location for their event. That's why we at Messe Frankfurt are delighted with the EMAS certification. https://lnkd.in/dsqU9Whd 2) Speed: Of course, a trade fair like the recent Ambiente or our Heimtextil are big creatures and not necessarily "nimble". But we also have to move, always adapt to the market, anticipate the needs of exhibitors and visitors and fulfil them as far as possible. That's why feedback from our partners (exhibitors, visitors, councils, associations...) is so important to us. 3) Product development: Visiting the event must create added value. It has to be more than just looking at the same kind of products in the same kind of stands. It's about personal encounters, a feeling for the industry, the trends, the future. Therefore, after the selection of exhibitors, the high-quality supporting programme, the trend show, an atmosphere in which all participants feel comfortable on the exhibition grounds and much more are also important. So that at the end you say "it was a good decision being there". In this way, the joy of participating will hopefully last as long as the joy with the wonderful carpets or other products of our textile exhibitors. 😊 #heimtextil #carpets #rugs #textiledesign #designer #tradefair #frankfurt #ambiente

My "Top3" learnings from the recent tradeshows. Ambiente Frankfurt 2024 concluded yesterday. With this, the European shows for the first half of the year come to an end and the Asian season is about to start! Next week: Delhi Fair! What are the tradewinds at the tradeshows indicating?? Here's my take: 1. SUSTAINABILITY SUSTAINABILITY SUSTAINABILITY: When we started showing predominantly sustainability lead products and displays in trade shows a couple of seasons ago- not as many buyers and sellers were making it the centerpiece of conversation. Today - it is top of mind. 2. NIMBLENESS IS NON-NEGOTIABLE: If one is looking only for large clients with high MOQs etc etc, then trade shows are not the right place. To really take full advantage of trade shows one must be nimble to adapt to a business model that finds a way - no matter what the customer wants. Strategic planning needs to provide for operational flexibility not rigidity. 3. MARGINS ARE SHRINKING, MARKETS ARE NOT: There is enough demand out there. Question is - how to manage profitability? With proliferation of tradeshows across the globe, and manufacturing centers holding large tradeshows in addition to international platforms like Germany, B2B customers are spoilt for choice, just like the end consumer is. We at The Rug Republic are fighting the battle with more and more emphasis on product development with a soul and story, not just looks. Manufacturers must resist the temptation and the pressure to push prices lower by hurting product quality. That business is like junk food for an enterprise. It may make us feel full, but nutrition is usually missing. I am thankful for another exciting trade show executed well by our awesome team of The Rug Republic! Looking forward to the next!! #sustainabilitymatters #tradeshows #ambiente #learnings #marketing2024 #profitability #growth

Messe München GmbH is a 60-year-old company and a global leader in the business of trade fairs. We constantly share knowledge between both companies to understand which exhibition models are most successful in which markets, and what are the evolving needs of our customers so that we can create meaningful experiences and value-generating marketplaces for them. These learnings are collected and shared through regular meetings and workshops with team members across India and Munich. One advantage of being associated with a legacy brand like Messe München is that we get a holistic perspective of the role of trade fairs and exhibitions in a constantly changing global world order. For example, the importance of trade fairs in emerging markets like India is growing exponentially as India’s export volumes and varieties increase. Today, we are witnessing unprecedented demand from global companies for exhibition space in India as they want to build partnerships with the domestic manufacturing landscape. Our synergies with Munich help us explore and build more such international partnerships.
