Sweet, sweet low-hanging fruit. When client retention failed, a new opportunity would open up in the following years. Re-acquisition. AKA Winbacks. P & C is a tough grind. It can be a game of volumes, win-today and lose-tomorrow. But far too many Producers lick their wounds after they lost business. A few years ago, I experimented with Winbacks. Partly because my reach out list ran dry and partly because I had major cold call reluctance. I figured calling old clients was less scary than calling strangers. And it was. It also provided a list of clients who bought from me before. Which is a HUGE indicator of willingness to buy from me in the future. Do you focus on Winbacks? Earning the "First Call" 📞 Something I've learned in my 22-year professional career: it's all about building meaningful connections! 👥 Instead of focusing on "selling" or "closing" on every deal that I'm presented with; I've found that investing energy into earning that *first* phone call with a potential client or advisor is invaluable. To me, that means I'm not a provider of capital, but a trusted advisor. How I earn the first call? It's simple, but not always easy: 👂🏼 LISTEN: These initial conversations are where we truly understand a clients' needs, build trust, and lay the foundation for fruitful partnerships. 🤔 PROBLEM SOLVE: I'm focused on helping the client solve a problem. The "solution" may or MAY NOT include me or what my organization has to offer! 👉🏼💻🌎 CONNECT: If I have the best solution to a problem, it will be offered. However, if I know of someone or something that can offer a better solution, I'm happy to share my thoughts and make any necessary introductions. For me, it's not about doing every deal, but about cultivating relationships that lead to long-term success....
