flydubai has added four new European routes, as outlined below. Only Basel passes the 3,000-mile barrier. P2P traffic will be supplemented by flydubai and close partner Emirates’ connectivity over Dubai. Importantly, none of the four cities are served by Qatar Airways, although they all see Turkish Airlines. - Basel: four weekly (appears to have had Dubai charters until 2019) - RIX Riga Airport: three weekly (will compete year-round with airBaltic) - Tallinn Airport (TLL): three weekly (not previously served from Dubai) - Vilnius: three weekly (will compete in the winter with airBaltic) Based on the past year and simply looking at size rather than possible airline or equipment, other unserved European cities with similar levels of P2P demand include Edinburgh (previously served by Emirates), Toulouse, Malaga, Porto (previously served by Emirates), Gothenburg, and Skopje (previously served by flydubai). Marseille is an example of a city that has limited service (in this case, by Transavia) but is underserved based on the amount of indirect pax and % of indirect pax to total. #airlines #aviation #dubai #flights

Etihad Airways and Air Serbia are now working together to make it easier for people to travel to more places. Etihad's customers can now reach 12 Southeast European destinations using Air Serbia's hub in Belgrade. This partnership allows passengers to book a single ticket, have a smooth check-in process, and easily transfer their luggage to the final destination. For Etihad's customers, this means they can access Air Serbia's network by flying from Athens, Milan, Rome, and Vienna. The Vice President of Alliances and Industry Affairs at Etihad, Jurriaan Stelder, mentioned that this collaboration expands their network and provides access to exciting destinations like Belgrade, Bucharest, Budapest, and more. Air Serbia's General Manager of Commercial and Strategy, Boško Rupić, highlighted that this partnership gives passengers more choices, flexibility, and convenience for their journeys. The collaboration started on January 30, 2024, for flights beginning on February 3, 2024. Both airlines share the same loyalty program, Etihad Guest, allowing members to earn and use miles across both networks. #networks #airlines #Manager #Etihad #travel #customers

Emirates Airlines announced that they will start a new flight from Dubai to Bogotá, the capital of Colombia, on June 3rd. This new daily service will be the first-ever direct link between the Middle East and northern South America. This new route will expand Emirates' network in South America, adding to their flights to São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and Buenos Aires. With this, Emirates will now fly to 19 destinations in the Americas, including the US, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, and now Colombia. The flights will go from Dubai to Bogotá via Miami, making Emirates the first airline to offer premium services on this route. Since Bogotá is very high up in the mountains, it's not possible to fly directly from Dubai without stopping. Miami was chosen as the stopover point because it has strong connections with Bogotá for tourism and trade. Travelers on these flights will need to follow US immigration rules and have the right documents because of the stopover in Miami. However, citizens of Colombia and the UAE can visit each other's countries without a visa for up to 90 days, thanks to an agreement between the two nations. #UAE #Emirates #Colombia #US #flight #Airline
