When thinking about the best in pet-centric design, the Best Friends Roadhouse immediately comes to mind. Located in Utah, and affiliated with the Best Friends Sanctuary, the Best Friends Roadhouse is an innovative hotel for both pet-owners and non-pet owners. We certified The Ivey's Hotel and they are great example 'how not to do dog friendly'. They barely scraped a C rank, scoring just 11 points out of 52. This is because they price gouge dog owners with unnecessarily steep fees while providing no services, amenities, or facilities for dogs in return, or even allowing them access to the wider hotel, and to make things worse they have a small weight limit meaning only very small dogs are welcome. We use hotels like this as an example of how not all dog friendly hotels are created equally, and how the words 'dog friendly' mean nothing unless they have been properly certified and ranked by an independent third party. To be honest, I love both! If I'm feeling more introverted (which is 90% of the time) I'll lean towards a river cruise. I love the smaller size of the ships, the leisurely pace, spacious staterooms, and the unique intimacy they offer, especially if I'm traveling solo.     On the other hand, if I'm feeling a little more extroverted and I'm looking for more onboard activities and more dining and entertainment options I'll lean towards an ocean cruise.     They both have pros and cons.
