Suicide Prevention isn't just posting the suicide hotline #... Access to healthcare is suicide prevention. Access to mental health services is suicide prevention. Housing is suicide prevention. Food security is suicide prevention. We stand behind these truths 1000 %, and we feel that we are fulfilling that mission by meeting these needs when we can and referring our veterans to someone who can assist them when we can't. Our MilitaryShare Food Program is feeding over 120 families per month alone. But there is much more work to be done. The need always outweighs the workers, unfortunately. Ask us how you can help?? Even the smallest efforts can make a huge impact. #FridayFacts #TogetherWeRise #Healthcare #MentalHealth #Housing #FoodSecurity #Impact2024 #LetsKeepMakingADifferenceIn2024

President and CEO at Behavioral Health Link | Future of Behavioral Care Solutions | 988 Crisis Response | Transformational Leadership
A recent survey has shown that only 13% of Americans know of both 988’s existence and the reasons why someone might contact 988. Understandably, this has led a majority of people to call 911 when they or a loved one is experiencing a #MentalHealth crisis. It's incredibly important for those struggling with depression, anxiety, or suicidal ideation to get the kind of support they need when they need it. 911 is a great resource for many emergencies, but #BehavioralHealth challenges require a specific kind of care. Moving forward, let's ensure that our communities are aware of 988's existence and role in helping everyone remain healthy and happy. #988Lifeline #CommunityHealth

President and CEO at Behavioral Health Link | Future of Behavioral Care Solutions | 988 Crisis Response | Transformational Leadership
When the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline transitioned from a traditional 10-digit phone number to #988, it received 2 million more calls, texts, and chats than the previous year. While it's amazing that this resource has become more accessible than ever before, it's vital that it is fully prepared to handle this influx in contacts. Through federal, state, and local support, 988 can continue to serve communities to the best of its ability. Moving forward, I believe that this crisis hotline will define the future of #BehavioralHealthcare. #MentalHealth #988Lifeline #SuicidePrevention

With the cost-of-living crisis leaving many of us struggling to pay our usual bills and feeling stressed, we’re delighted to be working with Bournemouth Water and South West Water, offering our Mental Health Floating Support service to any of their local customers struggling with their water bills and mental health. 🫶This new support provision will also provide vital financial solutions and payment plans to any of our customers having difficulty with utility debts, which will make a huge difference to their recovery journey. 📣Robert McLaughlin, Mental Health Floating Support Worker said: “We decided it would be best to help each other achieve a support network for customers which works both ways. They can refer customers to us for mental health support and we can contact them to help resolve the arrears of our customers, creating an efficient process that alleviates their stress and helps our customers rebuild their lives.” 💛Thank you to all involved in setting up this collaborative approach to helping our community cope through the cost-of-living crisis and beyond. #CostofLivingCrisis #CostofLiving #MentalHealth #Wellbeing

Every year 703 000 people take their own life and many more people attempt suicide. Every suicide is a tragedy that affects families, communities, and entire countries and has long-lasting effects on the people left behind. Stigma, particularly surrounding mental disorders and suicide, means many people thinking of taking their own life or who have attempted suicide are not seeking help and are not getting the help they need. The prevention of suicide has not been adequately addressed due to a lack of awareness of suicide as a major public health problem and the taboo in many societies to discuss it openly. Raising community awareness and breaking down the taboo is important for countries to make progress in preventing suicide. For this reason, we are proud to participate in the Darkness into Light event again this year. As the official walk organizer for Gibraltar and the surrounding area, We invite you to join us. We will be starting and finishing in Casemates (4.30 am start), walking up and around the rock, including the famous Mediterranean steps, which will offer some amazing views of the straits at sunrise. https://lnkd.in/dJfqEHeF #raisingawareness #suicideprevention #darknessintolight
