I'm thrilled to inform and personally invite you to a revolutionary, one-of-a-kind event in the European biotechnology sphere which is coming up soon. This event aims at incentivizing the scientific community, all interested stakeholders and the general public in particular about the latest breakthroughs, innovations and trends shaping the future of the biotech industry. The event in question is Taranto Biotech Days which will be taking place from the 11th to the 13th of October in Taranto, Italy. Taranto is a city that has struggled with cleaning up its biosphere from the aftereffects of industrial practices fostered by capitalism which have degraded the environmental quality of the province, leaving its inhabitants with higher cancer and mortality rates compared to the rest of Europe. This event is the first step of a much larger project to build a research foundation in Taranto focused on tackling the city's health issues while simultaneously pioneering techniques and technologies to clean up the ongoing industrial practices which are hazardous to Taranto's ecosystem. At this event, during one of the sessions, I will speak about the research I carried out during my time at UCL on cellular signalling and its importance in the diagnosis of diseases. Over 300 individuals and organizations are already involved in this event with several renowned speakers, researchers, professors and heads of industrial and scientific organizations from all over Europe taking part in the event. The initiative was conceptualized by our small group of scientists and visionaries led by the award-winning Guido Putignano. The main event will take place on the 11th of October with a symposium featuring leaders in industry and academic experts to explore the state of the art in biotechnology and how this can be applied to bettering Taranto's biosphere and the health issues facing some of its people. The following day, there will be a showcase of startups and presentations of grant proposals alongside stakeholders. After this, the rest of the event will be dedicated to exploring the historic landmarks and beautiful sights throughout the city of Taranto with activities such as Dolphin viewing and visits to museums and ancient castles. This event and the project in general promises to be groundbreaking as it aims to improve human life in general, incentivize the scientific community while strengthening efforts of bodies such as the European Union and the United Nations in making our planet safe for all to live in. I look forward to seeing you there as you come with us on this adventure. You can also consider joining us as a partner, supporter or sponsor. Together we can create that ripple effect. Thanks for taking out the time to read this. See you there! PS: Here's the link to the event: https://lnkd.in/dVdvufWM
