Junome 2024, week 3 : C is for Codon. With this sketch, I would like to speak about one of the codons that I find the most interesting, is the STOP codon. A codon is composed by three nucleotides (among Uracil, Guanine, Adenine, Cytosine : U, G, A, C) into the messenger RNA (mRNA). The "standard" stop (or termination) codons are UAA, UGA and UAG ; they are crucial for the correct protein formation. Now that I look after a little while at it, I am asking myself : instead of a "DNA sign", should I draw a "mRNA sign" ?
