Our combined efforts aim to advance the production of cleaner fuels, reduce global carbon emissions, and provide low-carbon-intensive solutions for asset development and operations. By repurposing waste into valuable molecules such as methanol, hydrogen, methane, and bio or circular chemicals, we are contributing to a more sustainable future. 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗟𝗜𝗠𝗘 𝗜𝗡𝗗𝗨𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗬 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗤𝗨𝗘𝗦𝗧 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗦𝗨𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗕𝗜𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗬 – 𝗖𝗜𝗠𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗚𝗘𝗧𝗧𝗜’𝘀 𝗖𝗢𝟮 𝗥𝗢𝗔𝗗𝗠𝗔𝗣   Cimprogetti has been a comprehensive solutions provider for the Lime Industry since 1967. Through engagements with various industrial stakeholders worldwide, the company is charting a challenging path toward achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. The reduction of CO2 emissions from lime production will be a long journey, as the industry is defined as “hard to abate”. In the short term, one viable option is transitioning from conventional fuels to renewable sources like biomass, to mitigate the total fuel contribution on CO2 emission. Furthermore, enhancing energy efficiency can yield additional reductions in emissions through several measures: - Substituting energy-intensive rotary kilns with more efficient vertical lime kilns; - Alternative sources of “green” energy such as “green” hydrogen; - Upgrading root blowers with newer, more efficient technology blowers; - Implementing oxygen enrichment to concentrate carbon dioxide in flue gas for potential utilization and storage; - Identifying practical applications to allocate CO2 production; - In a nearly emissions-free scenario, Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) technologies become indispensable for addressing any remaining emissions. This represents Cimprogetti's groundbreaking endeavor to tackle the formidable challenge of decarbonizing the "hard-to-abate" lime industry.

SAFFiRE Renewables is gearing up to launch its pilot biofuel plant this year! The plant will use the National Renewable Energy Laboratory’s (NREL) innovative deacetylation and mechanical refining (DMR) process to produce cellulosic ethanol from agricultural waste! Ultimately, ethanol made at the plant, operated by Conestoga Energy, can be upgraded into sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) using LanzaJet’s alcohol-to-jet technology✈️ Estimates suggest the resulting SAF will have a carbon footprint at least 83% lower than conventional jet fuel. 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐔𝐒 💡   At FincoEnergies, we're dedicated to exploring new renewable energy solutions and are proud to participate, together with GoodFuels, in the EU-funded CAPTUS Project.     🔸  Why is this project important?   To combat global climate change, it's essential to switch to low-carbon energy systems. The goal of the project is to demonstrate sustainable and scalable pathways to develop high value energy carriers by using industrial carbon emissions and by integrating renewable electricity surplus.  The project reflects a promising strategy that will help energy-intensive industries meet their emission reduction goals. It will also contribute in meeting the demand for #sustainablefuels in the transport sector. 🔸 What is our role in this project? Our role in the project is to develop strategies for the exploitation of the results and facilitate the adoption of these solutions into the market. So far, four scientific publications by the partner Universidad de Cantabria have been released, highlighting the project's progress and the potential of its outcomes.      🔸 What's next? Three complete renewable energy carrier (REC) value chains will be demonstrated at three different sites: 🔬 A bioprocess to produce triglycerides (a primary component of vegetable oils and animal fats used in the production of biodiesel) starting from CO2 in a steel plant;     🌿 Cultivation of lipids-rich microalgae, followed by hydrothermal liquefaction (a process that converts wet biomass into stable oil using hot, pressurised water) to produce bio-oils in a chemical plant;    ⚡️Electrochemical reduction of CO2 to produce formic acid (a promising organic liquid hydrogen carrier) in a cement plant.
