It's 10 days until International Women's Day! Here are three ideas on how you can invest in women 🌠 1) Give power back to women experiencing domestic violence by becoming a HER Board sponsor. Women need a steady, stable organisation and ongoing support to leave domestic violence behind. Join us at herboard.org.au. 2) Organise your own fundraiser. Giving collectively allows your impact to be that much greater. This year, 4FivePlus Collective are cycling around Perth in the morning of IWD to raise donations for Luma! 3) Be part of the conversation. We've come a long way with women's rights. But we still have a long way to go. We believe that change starts here. It starts with us. It starts with a conversation. We'll be joining the conversation and sharing our perspective on March 8th, with our counsellors, nurses, executives and health workers sharing their ideas on how we can all invest more into women and girls. #Luma #IWD2024 #Investinwomen

Despite waves of activism like the #metoo moment, women continue to suffer from gender based violence worldwide. Be it gender apartheid in Afghanistan or horrific attacks in Calcutta, the challenges women face are not bound by geography or socioeconomics. In fact, one need not look farther than home. Canada is no different and women’s rights have been diminishing following suit from our neighbors in the south. Anti-abortion centers exist here in Toronto masked as “support” centers for pregnant women and we have politicians/ law makers actively working to support them. Toronto Rape Crisis Centre (TRCC) aims to provide anti-oppressive, feminist peer support to survivors of sexual violence, of all genders and identities, through counselling, group support, education, advocacy, and activism. The existence of organizations like the TRCC is a testament to the long-standing need for support services in the face of violence against women. TRCC was established in 1974 ….and I envision a future where we no longer need an organization like TRCC in my lifetime. When women are safe, our children are safe. When children are safe, society is safe. Please take a moment to share/donate if possible. All support is appreciated … and a little goes a long way (even $10) within the non-profit/charity sector. Thank you ! #trcc #womensrights #canada #digitalsafety

🌈 Despite being more likely to identify as LGBTQIA+, young people are less likely to be out at work. In 2020, only 24.5% of LGBTQIA+ individuals aged 18-24 were out to everyone they work with. We need your help to change this! Your tax-deductible donation supports Out For Australia's national mentoring programs, helping LGBTQIA+ young people thrive and be their authentic selves at work. 💖 Donate today and make a difference: https://lnkd.in/giCBXXGh * AWEI 2020 Practice Points: Key Findings, Pride in Diversity, ACON #SupportLGBTQIA #OutForAustralia #DonateNow

Did you know YOU can help provide safe spaces for vulnerable women in Aruba? Read on to learn how ⬇️ 🏠 We recently kicked off a powerful initiative in the district of San Nicolas called “La Sala”. La Sala will help us further support women who work in the sex industry—women who deserve dignity, respect, and protection. 🌸 The Mission: La Sala aims to provide a permanent shelter where these women can find safety, support, and resources. Through fundraising, we plan on purchasing a building that will serve as a sanctuary for those who often face vulnerability and exploitation. 🌎 How You Can Help: 1. DONATE: If you’re inclined, consider contributing financially to this important cause. Every dollar counts and brings us closer to providing a safe space for these women. 2. SPREAD AWARENESS: Share this post to raise awareness about La Sala. Let’s amplify this message and reach more hearts. 3. PRAY: We recognize that we can do nothing without the grace and favour of the Lord. Your prayers are vital to the success of this project. Learn more and donate at ywamaruba.com/lasala 🙏 Let’s stand together, advocate for women’s rights, and create a world where safety and compassion prevail. 🌟💕 #Aruba #LaSalaProject #WomenEmpowerment #BeTheChange

The brilliant Rebecca Gill, CEO of Rosa Fund talking on BBC Radio ahead of last night's documentary, "Sarah Everard: The Search for Justice": "When the documentary is aired, there will be some very, very tough questions for the Police. There are also some tough social questions that we have to answer - why is the number of women who experience violence at the hands of men not reducing? Why are so many young women being exposed to so much misogyny online? There is a huge social challenge here that we are all part of solving. Women's and girls orgs are a critical part of that solution, the Police are part of that solution - we are all part of that solution." All credit to Frankie McCamley and the team for bringing this harrowing but important documentary together which is now available on iPlayer: https://lnkd.in/eAwtVRWx

GiveOUT Day donations are OPEN – and guess what? Your donations are doubled! 😱 We know times are tough at the moment, and we know how much you all want to continue supporting our work. We appreciate every kind message, every donation, every time you tell someone about us. We see all your efforts, and we honestly can't thank you enough. Days like GiveOUT Day are so helpful, because even if you're only able to give a small amount – it's doubled through dollar matching. So a little goes an extra long way. A few moths ago, our events were targeted by anti-LGBTQIA+ groups. Or rigorous safety procedures are already so robust and our number one priority, but the reality is – the costs associated have tripled in recent years. We need your help to keep our queer youth safe. Your donations this GiveOUT Day will help fund youth safety. Again, we can't thank you enough for everything you do to support us and champion LGBTQIA+ youth all year round. Donate now: https://buff.ly/3BEr9nS

Climate Change | Adaptation | Feminist Organizing | Movement Building | Founder- Young People for Action on Climate Change Jamaica-YPACCJA | GirlsCARE
Many of the conversations about #climatefinance at #SIDS4 have affirmed the work of Global Fund for Women. Private investment in poorer countries is limited, the global climate finance mechanisms are largely inaccessible and don't reach the masses, and global financial institutions are not designed to serve these populations. While we continue to demand and work towards system change, we also recognise the urgency of meeting the most vulnerable populations where they are, and providing the resources immediately required to resource their work and reduce their vulnerability. This is our current approach to providing inclusive, just finance for climate action.
By standing with movements, we offer a way to redirect despair and anger into solidarity through action. Research shows that autonomous feminist movements are one of the primary drivers of lasting social change—more powerful than national wealth, progressive political parties, or even the number of women in government. That’s why we fund movements—and as a regular monthly donor, you can provide ongoing support for feminist movements. If you can, join #1Point9Rising with a donation or by signing up for our email list: https://lnkd.in/g2EdJEhU
