Water, the essence of life on earth, surrounds us in abundance, yet its scarcity remains a contradiction — this life force is everywhere and not enough all at once. With the global water scarcity on the rise, taking conscious and continuous efforts towards a water-resilient world is more crucial than ever. At #Bosch India, we are choosing to observe #WorldWaterDay by taking a pause to reflect on responsible water conservation, both within and outside of our organization. Committed to reducing our dependency on freshwater consumption by 25% by 2025, Bosch in India has embarked on rainwater harvesting initiatives across facilities including — a 9-million-litre tank at the Spark.NXT Campus in Bengaluru, a 10-million-litre tank at the manufacturing plant at Bidadi, a 1200KL tank at the manufacturing plant at Jaipur — which stand as testaments to our vision for achieving water neutrality. Additionally, we also spearhead numerous water conservation projects for the benefit of local communities. Water is a resource shared by all without any boundaries, and the responsibility for conserving this finite resource rests on everyone. Your small actions can lead to significant change: - Reuse water wherever possible - Don’t leave the tap running beyond your need - Fix leaky taps and install water efficient fixtures - Create awareness for those around you on the importance of using water cautiously Together, let us embrace the responsibility to conserve water and safeguard it for future generations. #BoschCares #WaterConservation #Sustainability #SustainableFuture #EveryDropCounts #SaveWater #WorldWaterDay2024

This #WorldEnvironmentDay, we are proud to share our progress in conserving natural resources and promoting sustainable community practices. Our collaborative water conservation and waste management efforts foster a healthier, more resilient environment for future generations. The watershed and environmental conservation projects at Kolar, Hyderabad and Salem implemented by the S M Sehgal Foundation and Bala Vikasa Social Service Society, have significantly improved water storage, boosted agricultural productivity through silt distribution, regenerative horticulture while helping reduce overall water consumption through drip irrigation systems. Additionally, our project teams have educated farmers on scientific irrigation practices to ensure sustainable water usage. Under the waste management project, two 1250-litre capacity composters were installed to transform organic waste into valuable compost and encourage household waste segregation. To further proliferate awareness on waste management, a vibrant mural has been painted on the Bangalore walls with the community's support, urging people to reduce, reuse, and recycle for a cleaner city. These initiatives exemplify First American (India)’s unwavering commitment to sustainability and inspire our community to embrace eco-friendly practices. Together, we are building a greener, more sustainable future. 𝐌𝐚𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐭𝐫𝐚 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐨𝐯𝐞: 𝐖𝐢𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 #𝐌𝐚𝐡𝐚𝐒𝐰𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐡𝐭𝐚𝐀𝐛𝐡𝐢𝐲𝐚𝐧! Just this morning, my veggie run was met with a surprising sight: sparkling clean roads, freshly washed and gleaming under the sun. The Deep Clean Drive, championed by our CM Eknath Shinde, isn't just a promise—it's action in motion! What started as a pilot in Mumbai, fueled by an enthusiastic response, has now morphed into a statewide #MahaSwachhtaAbhiyan – a testament to the power of collective action. But why the urgency? While other cities grapple with pollution, Maharashtra is taking a proactive stance. We want to be the green lung of India, the state with the cleanest air and most vibrant streets. And this drive is the first step. The numbers speak for themselves: 1,000 𝐤𝐦 𝐨𝐟 𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐝𝐬 𝐰𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐝 𝐝𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐲, 22,000 𝐤𝐦 𝐚𝐥𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧, 183 𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐠𝐚𝐫𝐛𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐝, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 1,100 𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐝𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐬 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐝. The commitment is palpable, the progress undeniable. But this isn't just about the government – it's about us, the people of Maharashtra. We can be the wind beneath this movement's wings by: • 𝐕𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬: No act is too small. Lend a hand in your locality, spread the word, and inspire others. • 𝐀𝐝𝐨𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐚𝐥: Segregate, compost, and recycle. Let's make waste reduction a daily habit. • 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞: See something, say something. Report illegal dumping and environmental negligence. Imagine the impact if every single one of us joined this mission. Cleaner streets, healthier air, and a state that sets the bar for environmental consciousness – that's the Maharashtra we can build together. So, let's raise our brooms, not as mere cleaning tools, but as symbols of our collective drive for a cleaner, brighter future. Share your experiences, ideas, and suggestions in the comments below. Let's make #MahaSwachhtaAbhiyan a trendsetter, a movement that resonates across the nation! Together, we can make #Maharashtra shine! #CleanIndia #GreenMaharashtra #CitizenResponsibility #makeadifference

Water Crisis in Bangalore...!! Most of us might be knowing there is a huge water crisis in most of the area in Bangalore. Many of us were thinking “mujhe kya, mujhe toh mil rahi..!” That's good but you will also be a victim sooner or later. Only uncertain rains and changing climatic conditions cannot be blamed for the water crisis in Bangalore. There are many other factors as well behind this:- ➖ Population explosion: ➖Unplanned urbanization: ➖Unfriendly agricultural and industrial practices: ➖Pollution of water bodies: ➖A study conducted by the Environmental Management & Policy Research Institute (EMPRI) states that about 85% of Bangalore’s water bodies are polluted by industrial effluents, sewage, and solid waste dumping. ➖Legal and political challenges ➖Groundwater overuse and over exploitation: Because of global warming and many more factors. There are many more reasons. Criticality of the situation can be seen from the picture where a father-daughter duo is seen collecting water from a roadside leaking pipe on Hoodi Main Road in the tech corridor of Mahadevapura. Water crisis is not only a crisis in Bangalore but it's a global issue. What Steps Should Be Taken to Address the Water Crisis in India? ✅ Water conservation: Minimizing water wastage in domestic, industrial, and agricultural sectors. ✅Invest in Infrastructure: Allocate adequate financial resources for water infrastructure development, maintenance, and rehabilitation. ✅Promote Sustainable Agriculture:Encourage farmers to adopt water-efficient farming practices such as drip irrigation, precision agriculture, crop rotation, and agroforestry. ✅Address Pollution: Combat water pollution by enforcing strict regulations on industrial discharge, sewage treatment, and agricultural runoff. ✅Interlinking of Rivers: water from the surplus rivers and regions could be transferred to deficient regions and rivers to address the issue of water scarcity. What are your thoughts please share in the comment section..! #watercrisis #banglore #pollution #savewater #crisis #waterconservation

Read if you think hydration and water matters 👇 You know what happened in Karnataka? During last year's monsoon, the state received below 18% rainfall. Guess what!? It's not the only state, country but the whole world is facing this challenge. Just a few days ago the UN reported that 2014 to 2023 was the hottest decade on the record. -Because of our continued efforts, the Financial Times and Statista have named us a climate leader in Europe in not just 2021 and 2022 but also in 2023. -We have also sent ZERO waste to landfill from our manufacturing sites in 2022. -In the wellness factory based in Roorkee, 100% of the water is reused after treatment for landscaping. Choose products and things that nourish both you and our planet. Celebrate World Water Day, embracing sustainability for a brighter, greener future. #Oriflame #WorldWaterDay #Sustainable #ChooseNature #SustainableLiving

Delhi has the largest green cover in India and that has further increased from 20% in 2013 to 23.6% in 2021. One of the ten promises that we made was about the plantation of two crore saplings and trees in Delhi within the next five years. We are happy to announce that we have been able to achieve that target within four years. Last year our target was to plant 52 lakh trees. We have not only achieved that, but the NDMC has planted an additional 35 lakh shrubs throughout New Delhi. We have set another goal of planting 63 lakh plants in the upcoming fiscal year 2024-2025 with the help of twenty-one departments working in Delhi. The goal is in addition to our five-year plan of planting 2 crore plants. Different departments have been given their plantation targets for the next year. They will also conduct audits through third-party surveys to examine the survival rate and the actual condition of the trees and saplings planted in the last four years. Delhi government's sustained efforts to bring down the air pollution levels have now started to show results with significant improvement in the air quality.

𝐃𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐭 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐁𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐲𝐰𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐣𝐨𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧'𝐬 𝐟𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭 𝐮𝐫𝐛𝐚𝐧 𝐩𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧? Out of the many environmental concerns that India is battling at present, urban pollution needs urgent attention for the green cover it disrupts and health dynamics it spoils. A month ago, Mumbai City saw BMC initiating a tree plantation drive to give urban pollution a fight. The goal they said is to plant 200 Bahama trees. You must know that apart from the initiatives taken by the Government and authorized bodies like the one mentioned above, a series of environment-pro activities are being carried out by different entities at different levels. Let's look at YIMBY India. We have been an active participant in the area of waste management, composting, cleanliness drives, environmental education and a lot more. Not all these initiatives receive the attention they deserve, which means most of the "actions needed" and "actions taken" never come to light. This is where it helps to have a face with a following just like Akshay Kumar's participation in BMC's tree plantation drive, which aimed at attracting more eyeballs and increased participation. At Yimby India we continue to do our best with or without popular faces, one cause at a time. #yimby #urbanpollution #akshaykumar #fanfollowing PC: Indian Express

6moAgree that water is a scarce commodity and needs to be conserved.Despite emphasizing on this mere fact for ages, we have still problem of wastage more so in urban areas. This needs to be curtailed. Many ways that it can be done is through raising awareness and initiating campaigns.
