What is the state of climate change literacy across Africa? Dr. Nick Simpson was part of the research team that conducted the first continental-wide study on climate change literacy rates in Africa. The results were a wake-up call: awareness of climate change across 33 countries is still low. Public understanding climate change, its causes and its predictors is a key part of climate policy, especially for countries most vulnerable to climate change. Dr. Simpson outlines why policymakers and governments need to take climate change awareness seriously, and how the African Union can play a role in mainstreaming regional and continental climate change literacy. #climatechange #Africa #literacy https://lnkd.in/dU3pifFj
