“Many people have experienced psychological trauma, as children, as adults, or in connection with healthcare experiences. This means that sometimes recounting experiences or contributing to research as a patient and public involvement partner or talking with healthcare professionals, can be distressing and can trigger memories from the original experience.” FINALLY a paper about how patient engagement can cause harm. Vermont is on the cusp of a promising shift in mental health care, initiated by a 6–0 vote from the Senate Appropriations Committee to explore the potential of psychedelic-assisted therapy. ✨🍄🔍 This endorsement paved the way for the Bill’s passage in the Senate, signaling a strong legislative interest in advancing psychedelic therapy. 🍄 The bill aims to establish a Psychedelic Therapy Advisory Working Group, which will be responsible for evaluating the potential for regulated access to psychedelics in a therapeutic setting. 🏛️ This group will focus on developing recommendations for how healthcare providers can legally administer psychedelics safely while evaluating the overall impact on public health.
