Why are most yachts white? If you've ever walked in the harbour and you see a lot of yards, you might notice that most of the odds are white, right? They seem to all look pretty much the same. But why is that? Well, there can be a couple of reasons. First off, white is way easier to maintain and clean than any other color. It doesn't fade as noticeably and doesn't show nearly as many irregularities in the hull. There are very few builders who can produce a dark blue or black, or even worse, a red hall without looking like a badly paved. Sidewalk. Secondly, why deflects the most sunlight? This keeps the yacht cooler, especially in the summer. That's the same reason why planes are white as well by the way. And lastly, it can affect the resale price. People who have lime green and hot pink coloured vessels will probably have a much harder time reselling it at their desired price. So most owners like to keep it simple and go with white as it's much less of a headache. So that's your answer as to.
breezeYachting.swiss thanks for the education. As an outsider to the industry that's a question I've been asking. But if you did want to change things up, a wrap is the way to personalize your boat and you can remove it for resale. Marinas are a sea of sameness with all the white and it's time to liven things up a bit, don't you think?

To stand out among the crowd it takes a fresh approach, one that truly puts the owner first and isn't afraid to test the boundaries of something new. In other words, a new direction from the conventional.
The Absolute Yachts SPA 52 Fly is such a vessel, one that integrates modern concepts and solutions for a cutting edge yachting experience. It's often said that building a boat is a series of compromises. If you add space to one area, you're subtracting it from another. If that's true on the 52 Fly, we can't tell where that occurred. Absolute has seemingly re-invented the phrase 'found only on much larger yachts'.

Architecturaly styled yachts can offer a better guest experience. Why should a yacht look like a yacht?
M/Y THIS IS IT is a catamaran of 708 Gross Tonnes (GT). She offers almost double the volume from the average yacht of her length*.
Yachts that are going to operate in fair weather and sheltered waters don’t need to be ice classed, have huge bows, carry massive volumes of fuel and water and be capable sailing through a hurricane.
Designing a yacht to fits its purpose can open doors and opportunities to think outside the box.
Most flag yacht codes and class societies offer different standards for short range vessels which allow for much greater design flexibility. This has the added benefit of not dragging around features or capacities that will never be used, creating lighter more efficient yachts burning less fuel as they go.
*BOAT International Media BOATPro lists the global fleet between 43-44m at an average GT of 372.

Contemporary flybridge schooner SEA EAGLE in charter mode: the ultimate expression of personal freedom. Supersized sailing yachts: an attractive (and possibly even better) alternative to large motoryachts.
Supersized sailing yachts offer the same enjoyment but are also much (more) fun while travelling from “A” to “B”. Also, they offer the stimulating experience of seeing the sails hoisted, catching the wind, and the slender bow cutting through the waves to pick up speed.
Even those who are not keen on heeling angles, will be pleased to discover that new technologies exist to reduce lateral movement and heeling angle substantially.
In addition to the thrill of sailing and the satisfaction of Royal Huisman’s bespoke quality, future owners will also enjoy the “green footprint” and the significant efficiency advantage of free propulsion power (the wind!).
Last but not least, “energy-neutral”-mode will prove a much-appreciated feature: spinning the propellers to generate more than sufficient electrical power for all board systems, and for re-charging the batteries to enjoy “silent mode” while at anchor. For some, these features might sound like uncharted waters that require a lot more development, but not so for Royal Huisman.

🌊What qualifies as a megayacht?
Yachts that are at least 200 feet or 60 meters fall under the mega yacht category. These yachts, which are also the world's largest yachts, may have special licenses that allow them to accommodate more than 12 guests at the same time.
🌊What is the largest Heesen?
At 70 metres overall, Galactica Super Nova is the largest Heesen built to date.
🌊Who owns Heesen yachts?
The ownership of Heesen has been transferred to an independent Dutch Foundation… As a result of the sanctioning of one of Heesen's UBOs, the Russian-Azerbaijani businessman Vagit Alekperov, the shipyard has announced that it is now 100 per cent Dutch, as it used to be.
🌊What is the difference between a superyacht and a megayacht?
Some brokers and builders still adhere to the old definition, so they may refer to a vessel that is 85 feet long as a superyacht. Megayacht – Generally any vessel over 200 feet long. Until about a decade ago these were considered the largest private yachts in the world.
