Mark, I completely agree with you. The industry's strength lies in its collective efforts, and in our case, scaffolding benefits greatly from collaboration and knowledge-sharing. As we celebrate Scaffolders Day, it's a timely reminder of the importance of addressing the industry's challenges, particularly when it comes to recruiting and retaining the next generation of scaffolders. We need to reimagine what it means to work in scaffolding, making it an appealing career choice for young people in the 21st century. To achieve this, we must develop and implement real strategies that showcase the opportunities and benefits of working in our sector. This could involve rebranding scaffolding as a career that values safety, technical expertise, and problem-solving skills. It's crucial that we highlight thr variety of roles available within scaffolding, from design to site management, and the opportunities for career progression. We also need to invest in education and training programs that cater to the needs of the modern workforce. This could include apprenticeships, online courses, and industry-led initiatives that provide skills development and certification. Furthermore, it's essential that we work together as an industry to address the stigma associated with scaffolding as a career choice. We can do this by promoting positive narratives about the profession and showcasing the achievements and contributions of scaffolders on social media and other platforms. To achieve these goals, I'd like to propose that we establish a taskforce comprising industry stakeholders, educators, and government representatives to develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for recruiting and retaining the next generation of scaffolders. Mark, I would be more than happy to help drive this initiative forward and explore ways to make scaffolding an attractive career choice for young people. Let's work together to create a brighter future for our industry. What are your thoughts on this proposal people??? #scaffoldersday #scaffolding #scaffolders

National Scaffolders Day: A Call to Unity and Inspiration for the Future Today, on National Scaffolders Day, we celebrate the backbone of our industry—the incredibly talented scaffolders whose skill, resilience, and commitment ensure the safety and success of countless projects worldwide. From towering skyscrapers to intricate heritage restorations, scaffolders make the impossible possible. In the UK, we are fortunate to see audited companies from both the NASC - National Access and Scaffolding Confederation and the The Scaffolding Association employing Construction Industry Scaffolders Record Scheme (CISRS) trained scaffolders, creating a level playing field where professionalism and excellence are the standard. This alignment proves that, when standards are shared and upheld, we can achieve remarkable harmony. Now, we have a bigger challenge and a brighter opportunity ahead: inspiring the youth of today to become the professionals of tomorrow. Scaffolding is not just a trade—it’s a craft, a career, and a community. To secure the future of our industry, we must make scaffolding attractive, not just as a job, but as a life-changing opportunity to build something greater than oneself. To achieve this, we need unity. I call upon the NASC, the Scaffolding Association, and every stakeholder across the globe to join hands, breaking down barriers and celebrating what binds us together. Join the Global Scaffolding Alliance Alliance a community that showcases and unites the pride, professionalism, and possibilities of scaffolding to the next generation of a global scaffolding community. So today, let’s raise a glass—not just to the scaffolders who have built our past and present—but to the bright future we can build together. To every scaffolder, every trainer, every innovator, and every apprentice: thank you for being the pillars of this industry. Together as one” , we can elevate scaffolding to new heights. Here’s to our scaffolding family across the globe—may we build a legacy that inspires for generations to come. “Happy National Scaffolders Day!” A day of recognition and inclusivity for all scaffolders, globally #ScaffoldersDay #CISRS #ScaffoldingAssociation #NASC #SARNZ #SAIA #SAA #AAC #UEG #BSA #TWf Photo: All credit goes to Skyline Scaffolding Vancover

As part of our SAGT program, Certificate III in Bricklaying and Blocklaying This Certificate III (3) provides a trade outcome in bricklaying and blocklaying. Occupational titles may include: bricklayer or blocklayer. The qualification has core unit of competency requirements that cover common skills for the construction industry, as well as two specialist fields of work. The construction industry strongly affirms that training and assessment leading to recognition of skills must be undertaken in a real or very closely simulated workplace environment and this qualification requires all units of competency to be delivered in this context. Completion of the general induction training program specified by the National Code of Practice for Induction Training for Construction Work (ASCC 2007) is required before entering a construction work site. Achievement of unit CPCCOHS1001A covers this requirement. https://lnkd.in/gYQh-VQd #construction #csq #funding #apprentice #upskill #build #brisbane #queensland
