Koenigsegg's one and only racecar - the CCGT! The car started off as a side project for Christian to fulfill the larger picture of getting into racing. It was built to compete in the FIA GT Championship, complying with all ACO & FIA regulations at time of completion. Unfortunately, just months after completion, during shake-down runs of the car, the FIA changed the regulations for the GT1 class. For one, Carbon Monocoques were no longer allowed. Then the homologation numbers jumped from 20 examples spread out over time, to 350 examples a year. Unable to adhere to the new changes, Koenigsegg has to opt out. Effectively bringing an end to the CCGT project, with only the one car being built. So let's talk about this rare beast. It sported the same base engine found in the CCX, however the superchargers were removed to comply with racing restrictions of the time. They increased the size of the engine from 4.7L to 5.0L to make a race-restricted 600hp. It has a 6-Speed Sequential CIMA transmission driving the power to the rear wheels. The car's body has is made of Carbon Kevlar, weighing in at just 2200lbs (1000kg) before the ballast they was required to go racing. It also makes 1400lbs of downforce. Koenigsegg states that those that have driven it have said the car is a dream to drive and it would have been incredibly competitive. Last year, it went up for auction this at Goodwood Festival of Speed and now has a new home. Though it was sent back to the Koenigsegg to be taken care of for future racing by the new owner, who has a plans to thoroughly use it on track. #koenigsegg #ccgt #supercar #racing #performance #speed #sweden 🇸🇪 #Anis_Maaouia

📌Lucas Di Grassi Suggests Changes in Formula E Holdings Being one of the first champions, having 100 victories in his career and standing as one of the most popular drivers in Formula E give Lucas di Grassi the hierarchy and parchment to suggest changes in the format. The Brazilian believes that the electric category should follow in the footsteps of Formula 1 and introduce the ‘Sprint‘ format to continue innovating. He proposes that they should have longer weekends at each E-Prix, and would even go further with the creation of relay races or the return of pit stops, this time in the form of reloads. #Sprint #formula1 #changes #return #E-prix #reloads #creation CC: Alvaro Buenaventura Georgina Sánchez Baca Gutiérrez Check in:

The message displayed to consumers visiting the Northwest Motorsports website reads... "Northwest Motorsport Guests, Thank you for your business and interest in our dealership. After thoughtful consideration and evaluation of today's pre-owned vehicle market conditions, we have decided to close operations at Northwest Motorsport, effective January 23, 2024. If you have any questions or need assistance, please email contact@nwmsrocks.com or call 253-604-7441." I'm wondering; in light of limited used car inventory, inflated inventory costs, and high interest rates, what levers can dealerships pull to successfully navigate "today's pre-owned vehicle market conditions?"

FIA Insights - Formula 1 Austrian GP Track Limits Updates We have made significant changes at the Red Bull Ring to address track limits at Turns 9 and 10. The installation of a 2.5m gravel strip behind the kerbs at these turns is a key development, acting as a natural deterrent to prevent drivers from gaining an unfair advantage by running wide. To further improve clarity and enforcement, we've introduced a new blue line behind the kerbs. This helps officials to easily identify when a driver exceeds the track limits, ensuring consistent and transparent decision-making during the race. These updates reflect our commitment to maintaining the integrity of the sport and responding to feedback from drivers and teams. We believe these changes will lead to more exciting and fair racing at the Red Bull Ring. Learn more about these changes: https://lnkd.in/ewWa73Jt

F1 approves plans for sprint format revamp for 2024; Tyre blanket ban abandoned https://lnkd.in/ey6UhS8V Amid a growing consensus in the paddock that the current standalone sprint format is not delivering as much entertainment as hoped for, team bosses and grand prix racing chiefs have begun discussions about tweaks for 2024. At a meeting of the F1 Commission in Abu Dhabi on Thursday, it was agreed that a freshening up of the format – potentially involving reverse grids or a complete revamp of the weekend timetable – should be targeted. The F1 Commission also agreed to a move to abandon a ban on tyre blankets for 2025, which was due to be evaluated during next season. This move has come as F1 chiefs make a push to improve the racing, amid a view that the characteristics of the current tyres are not ideal. While F1 teams have already begun outline work on their 2026 cars, when F1's regulations are set for a radical overhaul, it was agreed that work should no longer be allowed in the near term. A statement said: "The Commission agreed that no work may be carried out on the development of a car for the 2026 season before the start of 2025."

Fans of Formula 1 will observe that, in contrast to certain other motor racing categories around the world, each grand prix has a distinct number of laps and durations. This is because, because of the several circuits its calendar holds, the series, like Le Mans 24 Hours, 12 Hours of Sebring, and others, runs to a specified distance rather than an amount of time. Because 70 circuits at Silverstone could take twice as long as 70 laps in Montreal, this is done to ensure that every race is roughly the same length. To inform viewers of how close the race is to ending, a lap count is displayed in place of a clock in the corner of the live feed. Thus, a variety of circumstances influence the duration of an F1 grand prix; some have been completed in less than an hour, while others have taken nearly five hours. Here is all the information you need to understand the regulations regarding race duration, past controversies, and other related topics. https://lnkd.in/dkCE3wqA

Lando and Oscar’s race to win at the Bahrain GP officially kicked off the 2024 Formula 1 season for McLaren Racing over the weekend. This year’s expansion of DP World’s partnership with McLaren sees us take a new branding position on the MCL38’s dynamic digital panels, and is a testament to the importance of working together. Navigating the increasingly dynamic logistics landscape relies on collaborative relationships across different sectors. Here’s what I mean by that: 1. Enhanced resilience: Sharing resources, expertise, and best practices that significantly bolster resilience against unforeseen challenges. 2. Enabling new thinking: Cross-sector partnerships foster creativity and breed innovation, driving groundbreaking solutions to complex supply chain problems. 3. Optimised costs: Shared infrastructure, transportation networks, and distribution channels streamline operations and lead to significant cost savings. By increasing purchasing power and market access, we can drive down costs for all partners involved. 4. Expanding market access: By using each other's networks and distribution channels, we promote growth and greater market reach for our customers 5. Addressing sustainability challenges: By aligning on how we produce, optimise, and incentivise sustainable alternatives, we can minimise our shared carbon footprints, foster responsible sourcing practices, and create a positive impact on society. Congratulations to Lando and Oscar on a great first race of the season and to McLaren for a strong overall performance in Bahrain. I’m excited to see what the next few circuits have in store for the team and look forward to what is promising to be a great year.
