Sometimes my job looks like a coffee catch up with two fellow creatives (they’re also brilliant educators), talking passionately about the power of creativity in the classroom, and getting to draw their inspiring conversation. It was like a layered creativity cake of a job - sweet and satisfying! 🍰 If you are a teacher or know a teacher, be sure to check out Elastic Education: Teaching & Learning for Creativity.
A new school year (here in Oz) = massive creative potential We would love to help fellow teachers get on the good foot and develop students’ creative thinking everyday. When you’re trying out creative learning strategies in class, it makes all the difference to have a friend both as a sounding board and to cheer you on. That’s what Elastic wants to be. So here we are with a jumbo serving of newness: a new website https://lnkd.in/gppqGVUg complete with new blog, plus a shiny new free resource to download. Check out this gorgeous live scribed video by Kristin Connolly aka lovecommakristin which captures our mission so brilliantly! We both started brand new educator roles a few days ago, and we’re going to be sharing all our reflections and ideas weekly on our blog at https://lnkd.in/gwp-x8vx We’d love you to come with us for the ride!

Dropping your kiddo off at college is All. The. Feels. Excitement and pride mix with nervousness and even grief as your baby leaves home. How do you keep it all together? Not just to avoid tear-streaked mascara in your family photos but also to give your student the support they need? Write them a letter. Tell them you love them and you're proud of them. Remind them (and yourself) that they have the skills to succeed. Tell them your hopes and dreams for their college years. Remind them (and yourself) why they've chosen a great college. Details and a template: https://lnkd.in/g3Xhtgau #collegeplanning #college #howtopayforcollege

I want to share the story behind the cover photo. The photo, which is now an illustration was taken by my wife Jody on our middle daughter's first day of kindergarten. The photo depicts how families are on the first day of school where the parent is holding hands with their kids, carrying the bag of another, and the eldest is walking independently. I love the photo because it captures the essence of our family and all three girls know who they are in it. 🎥 Watch the video to learn more about the story of the cover of the book and the sweet message my middle daughter Evie said to me after reading the introduction.
