Great work from Simon Hawley and the planning team on securing outline permission for a 185-home development in Worcestershire. Acting for David Wilson Homes, part of Barratt Redrow, the team submitted an application to Wychavon District Council, seeking outline permission for the development of a 40-acre agricultural site forming part of Orchard Farm to the north of Owletts End, Pinvin. The plans were approved subject to a number of conditions. Simon says: “This is an exciting application that will bring much-needed housing to Wychavon. The scheme will deliver up to 185 dwellings, 40 per cent of which will be made up of essential affordable housing, and a number of self-build plots, as well as a local centre, public open space including a play area, and associated infrastructure.” #planningpermission #newhomes #Worcestershire https://lnkd.in/e7JWi9-5

🏡 Exciting News for Saundersfoot! Persimmon West Wales has purchased land at Sandy Hill in #Saundersfoot, paving the way for 72 new high-quality homes in this beautiful #Pembrokeshire town. With planning permission secured in July, we're preparing to break ground and bring these much-needed homes to market by summer. This development offers a mix of one to four-bedroom homes, including detached, semi-detached, terraced houses, and apartments. Designed to meet local housing needs, 35% of the homes (25 in total) will be transferred to a local housing provider for rent and shared ownership, helping address Pembrokeshire’s housing list. Our vision goes beyond homes. The scheme includes: ✅ A community play area at its heart. ✅ Upgrades to highways and active travel routes. ✅ A dedicated active travel link to Sandy Hill Road. ✅ Sustainable drainage, rain gardens, and bio-retention areas. ✅ Green technologies like solar panels and EV charging points. ✅ Measures to preserve wildlife habitats, trees, and hedgerows. This project embodies our commitment to building quality homes while enhancing the local community and environment. #PersimmonHomes

This clip higlights why we need to urgently level the national Urban Green (and supporting blue) Infrastructure policy playing field. Recent joint submissions from ASBEC, AILA, AIA, PIA, AGIN, AIH, Arb Aust and PLA - in response to Canberra's draft 'National Urban Policy'; highlighted the need for the Federal Govt to develop a national UGI strategy and co-invest in this critical community infrastructure - as Australian settlements become denser and hotter. A National UGI Roundtable is currently being formed - watch this green+blue+grey sector space.

Did you know that the Hammock Dunes Toll Bridge is privately owned by the Dunes Community Development District (DCDD). Community Development Districts (CDD), are “units of special - purpose local government” established by Chapter 190 of the Florida Statutes. CDD’s provide a mechanism for the financing and management of new communities, consistent with local government’s development procedures, regulations and environmental standards. The District is responsible for potable water and wastewater utilities, distribution of reclaimed water for irrigation, storm water management for the community, operations financing and maintenance of the Hammock Dunes Toll Bridge. DCDD services the communities of Hammock Dunes, Ocean Hammock, Yacht Harbor Village, and Hammock Beach. It is governed by a 5-person Board of Directors that is from and elected by those communities. Three of the five Board of Directors seats are up for election in 2024 and will be on the ballot for those communities. The Hammock Dunes toll bridge benefits the entire Flagler County and Palm Coast communities as it is one of two bridges that provides access to the barrier island, our shoreline, and the A1A Scenic Byway.
