International advocacy is key to ensuring business aviation’s benefits and priorities are understood and appreciated in the face of many common challenges. This article shows the critical role that business aviation associations such as IBAC, National Business Aviation Association, European Business Aviation Association (EBAA) and the Irish Business & General Aviation Association (IBGAA) play in supporting and promoting the value of our industry. International aviation has been a rich part of Ireland’s history since the first non-stop flight from the U.S. to Europe landed in a peat bog more than a century ago. The #IBGAA draws on this legacy in promoting the importance of GA and business aviation across the country. #aviation #businessaviation #bizav #airtravel #aircraft #airports #aviationindustry

Yesterday, the Belgian Presidency of the Council of European Union, under the leadership of Transport and Mobility Minister Georges Gilkinet, hosted a successful event focused on shaping a sustainable future for the aviation sector. Through engaging panel discussions, diverse stakeholders tackled issues surrounding competitiveness, social rights, and future aviation legislation. The event yielded several key takeaways ✈️ Safeguarding European airlines demands a level playing field both internally and in comparison with non-EU counterparts. ✈️ Collaboration between airlines, unions, and regulatory bodies is crucial for upholding the social rights of aviation crews. ✈️ The need for a more cohesive and robust legislative framework specifically addressing social rights within the aviation industry was strongly acknowledged. ✈️ Highlighting the importance of fair competition in upcoming aviation legislation is seen as a key step towards strengthening European airlines for the future. At E4FC, we wholeheartedly echo these sentiments. New leadership at the EU level later this year, presents a unique opportunity to tackle the challenges facing the European aviation head-on. We remain firmly committed to supporting policymakers and stakeholders in building a European aviation sector that is both competitively strong and socially equitable. 🤔 In case you missed it... ➡ In the framework of the Belgian Presidency of the Council of European Union, last week the city of Brussels hosted the 2024 edition of the Connecting Europe Days, Europe’s mobility flagship event. The Connecting Europe by Air side event was a particularly insightful initiative, which gathered policy makers and aviation industry stakeholders from all over #Europe to discuss the critical role of aviation in ensuring #connectivity & #sustainability within the European transport system. 🛫 The event also provided a platform to explore innovative EU-funded aviation projects showcased across the venue. 💡 The major highlights during the panels? • Security needs to be ensured at every level and in every shape. • Sustainable mobility must emerge as a priority also through the EU citizens's vote at the upcoming European Parliament elections. • Although there is no silver bullet solution to make aviation more sustainable, there are several silver bullet solutions that can be put in place, one complementing the other. 🙌 Let's continue working together towards sustainable flights! 🔗https://bit.ly/4aD621u

🚨 European Union Policy Priorities 2024-2029 by Air France-KLM Today, #AirFranceKLM presented its European Union policy priorities for the 2024-2029 period. To be effective, public policy should accompany the aviation sector in both achieving its climate goals and ensuring its competitiveness. Read the full text 👇🏻
Today, #AirFranceKLM presented its European Union policy priorities for the 2024-2029 period. To be effective, public policy should accompany the aviation sector in both achieving its climate goals and ensuring its competitiveness. While decarbonization is one of our industry’s biggest challenges, we believe that – given the right tools and incentives – we can be at the forefront of a more sustainable and competitive aviation sector. As we approach the 2024 European elections, Air France-KLM encourages the prioritization of the following areas: ➡ Achieving our climate goals - Air France-KLM is committed to incorporating at least 10% of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) on all its flights by 2030 (going beyond the minimums mandated by EU law). - Decarbonizing European aviation will require developing a robust SAF industry. Flexibility mechanisms, such as a Book & Claim model, can foster the deployment of SAF in the early stages of development where supply is limited. ➡ Ensuring a competitive European aviation industry - Given the global nature of network airlines, climate action should be enacted at the global level as much as possible to preserve a level playing field. - Air France-KLM strongly encourages worldwide ambitions such as the ICAO’s long term aspirational goal on net-zero emissions by 2050. - Air France-KLM supports the promotion of strong European environmental and social standards vis-à-vis non-EU countries. ➡ Continuing to put our customers first Air France-KLM is committed to ensuring clear, balanced, and fair passenger rights for all our customers. - Through our “Air & Rail” product, we are promoting the use of multimodal journeys wherever possible. We believe that passengers should have the freedom to choose their preferred mode of transportation, and that future EU frameworks should encourage that direction. 7moAnd a great picture of the Simply Jet team on the EBACE 2023 static display!! It baffles me the extent to which the National Business Aviation Association goes to perpetrate the counterproductive hiding game of #BizAv! Blurring the registration of the Pilatus Aircraft Ltd PC24 registered HB-VVL was totally useless! The demonstration is that a picture of the same setting, moments before, is available on the official EBACE website! Including the high-resolution registration number! https://ebace.aero/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Static_0369_7C0A5490.jpg #StopHidingBizAv!
