When it comes to answering the question "What do you do?" It gets complicated*! In a week I could be coaching a client to excel on the stage. Helping someone get over their fear of networking and that elevator pitch. Training business owners on no cost marketing. Networking via my confidential mastermind group and sharing leads that lead to hundreds of thousands of pounds of new business. I could be helping someone set up a blog or write their first book and get a publisher to take them seriously. I could be working with a really stressed out team who have stupid deadlines right now and are working silly hours, so they work less and get more done with less stress. I could be talking about overwhelm or I could be talking about how to be confident. Or I could be email coaching on one of my 14 courses. So, what do I do? *To say it's an honour to work with Julia is an understatement. Her dedication to her customers, mission and business are unparalleled. Watch this space as Julia is doing amazing things...I'm just the cheerleader! Well, let's just say it doesn't fit on a business card! So I mostly go by Author, Mentor and Cheerleader - and as I heard said many times today, kick butter - not sure I'm putting that on a business card! What do you do?

The RJC is excited to announce our inaugural Wales Conference, set to take place in Cardiff on Thursday, 16th May 2024. Join us as we explore the intersection between restorative culture and community transformation and growth. The premise of this conference is rooted in the principle that people possess the abilities to devise their own solutions in the face of difficulties, be it in an educational setting, in their community, at home, or within the justice system. Restorative practice provides values, culture and a reliable structure for relational and trauma informed practice in any context. The different approaches help build, maintain and repair relationships and grow community strengths, to prevent and address conflicts effectively. A restorative approach prioritises inclusion and diversity of perspectives to problem solve well, promoting healing and reconciliation rather than punishment and exclusion. Restorative practice is most effective when implemented as part of a larger restorative culture, where communities are empowered to utilise their own strengths and resources before professional interventions that may have an impact on their lives. When all members of a community are fully committed to fostering a restorative culture, it provides the foundation for transforming conflicts into opportunities for personal and collective learning and success. A community that fully embraces restorative practice has the potential to cultivate a safer, more joyful, and more productive environment for all individuals involved. Central to this is implementing strategies to cultivate a thriving community culture centred on restorative principles. This entails examining ways to assist and enhance the efforts of various organisations that serve and support the community, such as schools, workplaces, criminal justice services, healthcare providers, and local government services, in establishing and integrating their own restorative culture. It is only by accomplishing this that we can establish a suitable environment for empowering communities to embrace restorative practice. Two important pieces of legislation on the docket for this year's DOTH. HR 955/S 1849: Sustaining Outpatient Services Act seeks to redress the inequity in CMS reimbursement when a CR/PR program relocates off campus or opens a new facility off the grounds of the main hospital. HR 1406/S 3021: Sustainable Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Services in the Home Act seeks to make many of the waivers that CMS granted during the PHE permanent. These waivers allowed for the delivery of virtual CR/PR and for the daily supervising provider requirement to be met virtually. The last point is critical (no pun intended) for CAH in rural areas. AACVPR is sending the entire BOD to D.C. this year to impress upon Congress how important these bills are. Hope to see you there.

THIS WEEK is our 2nd Anniversary.. and we're #movingforward to deepen our work to empower residents, staff and communities. We will continue to be: 🌟 Focusing on the people in nursing homes. We have four projects underway being pilot tested in order for best practices to be promote nationally. These projects specifically empower residents to have control over their personal and community life, and #CNAs to grow in their career and nursing home roles. 👉 We'll be releasing a microsite later this week with "how to" guides. 🌟 Strengthening our voice for consensus of solutions. We're continuing to bring together diverse voices to identify solutions (big and small) we can all agree on. 👉 This week we'll have three consensus-backed federal policy recommendations to move forward with necessary shifts. 🌟 Seeking partners as we can't do it alone. 👉 We need help funding and scaling other promising projects to: incentivize household models, ensure surveyors have training in person-centered care, and make person-centered care planning a part of nursing home electronic health records. [Mr. Woodruff] I got involved with COAST after the by-laws change as I was (and am) concerned about state-level information and advocacy for our profession when the existing state organizations were unsupported or taxed out of existence. 2.   Describe COAST's mission in a way that feels meaningful to you. [Mr. Woodruff] The mission of COAST is to ensure a place for emerging and existing systemic therapists to go for networking, information, advocacy, and support with state and local-level knowledge and insight. 3.   What would you like future COAST members to find in COAST? [Mr. Woodruff] I would like members to find a welcoming, professional, and knowledgeable home to support folks in their work as systemic therapy professionals. 4.   What's one good reason more MFTs should consider joining COAST?
