We are half way through National Inclusion Week. This year's theme is Impact Matters, a clear reminder of the importance of acknowledging (and measuring) the impact of your actions towards building a more inclusive workplace. "There are a number of different ways that your organisation can gain a return from diversity and inclusion work, which go beyond monetary income and savings". If you want to know what they are and how you can make an impact, why not grab yourself a copy of The Inclusion Journey by Mo Kanjilal and Allegra Chapman. How can you promote inclusion? This week is National Inclusion Week, which celebrates diversity and promotes inclusion by raising awareness about creating an inclusive society. Inclusion allows people to bring their whole selves to the table, which helps to bring in new perspectives, discover richer ideas, boost deeper collaborations and foster stronger communities both within work and outside of it. By promoting inclusion, you can increase creativity, innovation and overall wellbeing in your organisation. You can use National Inclusion Week to do the following: - Educate yourself on different cultures, experiences and perspectives. - Challenge your own biases and be mindful of the influence they have on your decisions. - Speak up when you notice exclusionary behaviour. - Actively listen and engage with people’s experiences with an open mind. The 23nd-29th of September is National Inclusion Week, a week to celebrate inclusion and take action to create inclusive workplaces. The theme for this year is 'Impact matters'. It's a powerful message that echoes the belief that every single person has the potential to inspire significant change. We can all serve as catalysts for fostering a more inclusive workplace, organisation, or community. Let's make a difference and stand together and show the world that inclusion matters because everyone's impact matters. https://lnkd.in/esBt3uWq #DifferentMakesADifference #NationalInclusionWeek

This week we celebrate National Inclusion Week, founded by Inclusive Employers. This year's theme is #impactmatters and across this week there are a number of free to access resources and events offered by Inclusive Employers and many other organisations, which are designed to help us all understand how our individual and collective actions can impact the creation of more inclusive workplaces (or not as the case may be). For me, my 3 jump off points have tended to be (1) continue to be curious, (2) make time to invite and listen to the opinions of others and (3) absolutely encourage honest (and safe) reflection on both successes and challenges as key learning and growth tools. I will use this week to see how these stack up and make any necessary adjustments here and there. What has tended to work for you?
