While the planet won't completely deplete its water supplies, the prospect of nations clashing over access to this vital resource is a legitimate concern. However, such a scenario is not inevitable. Countries have the capability to form joint agreements that honor our global water resources. Already, some nations are setting examples in this regard, though there's still considerable progress to be made. Yearly, we witness the impact of extreme weather through water phenomena—flooding in certain areas, droughts in others, with all regions becoming more susceptible to the challenges of water scarcity. It's also clear that the repercussions of such weather extremes will impact the most impoverished and vulnerable populations the hardest.

The Andaman Islands are grappling with an acute water crisis, exacerbated by climate change and outdated infrastructure. Villagers endure days without water, relying on scarce and often polluted sources. Despite annual monsoon rains, poor retention and failing pipelines worsen the situation. Local leaders call for comprehensive policies, improved infrastructure, and innovative solutions like desalination plants to ensure a reliable water supply. #WaterCrisis #AndamanIslands #ClimateChange #Infrastructure #SustainableSolutions #EnvironmentalChallenges

Water, water, everywhere 💧 DYK that 97% of the water on earth is in our oceans and too salty for human consumption? As climate change threatens the availability of our limited freshwater resources, desalination technologies that transform saltwater into high-quality, drought-resilient supplies hold great promise. #OurJacobs Global Principal for Desalination and Membrane Treatment Constanze Simmermacher discusses the latest trends and innovations in desalination solutions In the Q&A at the link in the comments 👇 #OneWater #Desalination #ClimateResponse #BoldlyMovingForward

Access to clean water is a Human Right. Today 1.1 billion people worldwide lack access to water, and a total of 2.7 billion find water scarce for at least one month of the year. If we do not act, by 2025, 2/3 of the world’s population may face water shortages. This week at International Desalination Association (IDA) Seville Summit on Water & Climate Change we are addressing world water scarcity. And Dow is committed to be part of the discussions to secure the future of water availability for all. #wateravailability #seektogether #waterdesalination
