As part of our volunteer initiative, employees met up along the grand strand this morning for a beach clean up. Carolina Trust is committed to serving our local community and we loved being able to gather employees together to help make a difference.

Doing our part. Being a part of the South African business community means so much more than providing excellent services, professional opportunities, and thriving facilities and properties. It’s also about contributing to the specific needs of others. The Broll Foundation forms part of exactly that – where we take great pride in Brollies stepping up and stepping out to improve the lives of those around them. Our Brollies have been taking time out of their busy days to do their part for 67 Blankets for Nelson Mandela Day, and were just recently invited to tea with Carolyn Steyn, and members of the 67 Blankets EXCO and Brand Ambassadors. The purpose of this visit? To deliver 25% of the wool that forms part of our commitment to distributing wool to communities with the passion, ability, and drive to knit or crochet blankets for the cause, but don’t have the resources. This is as important a part of this wonderful initiative as making the blankets ourselves, as it demonstrates the value of true empowerment – assisting communities with the resources to make their own impact. Giving so others can be a part of it too. So much of what we do at Broll is about empowerment and enablement – giving our clients the means to do and be their very best. What will your contribution to 67 Blankets be this year? #67Blankets #SuccessStories #GivingBack #GoodNews #Community #RealEstate #ProgressivePropertyPeople

It's fitting that our Community Review Process takes place during National Volunteer Week! We take pride in recognizing the hard working volunteers that give hundreds of hours to make the annual review process successful. These 40+ volunteers spend time visiting every agency, reviewing outcomes and outputs, evaluating budgets, and listening to agency presentations. This community led process is a hallmark of United Way and you can be proud knowing it is how your dollars are invested. #ThankYou #NationalVolunteerWeek #LIVEUNITED See less

Let's continue the Volunteer Appreciation topic with more ideas! As noted last week, acknowledging and recognizing the volunteers of your community or organization needs to be constant. Consider these ways: - List volunteers in the community newsletter - Acknowledge a committee or particular volunteer at a Board meeting - Hold a volunteer appreciation event - Hang photos of the volunteers in the clubhouse - Highlight the work and time with photos and videos at the annual meeting What other ways do you acknowledge your volunteers? #tiptuesday #volunteerappreciationmonth
