I can remember how joyful I was after my AAT Induction. The joy that I was gradually fulfilling the dream of being a Chartered Accountant. As an undergraduate studying a non-accounting related course, I struggled to create the professional path of being a Chartered Accountant. In every club I joined, association I was, Events I volunteered for, I was intentional about the field of Accounting. Always wanting to leave a blueprint of accounting. People have been fathomed about my passion for accounting and it has become my identity. Accounting profession has always been a profession I admire. It was not just about the numbers or formats, but it's importance in driving financial decisions for organizational growth. Integrity, accuracy, and compliance are virtues I admire the accounting profession for. It's a noble one. Today, I'm not just an admirer of the accounting profession. I've become it. I'm a Chartered Accountant who is currently practicing in an Accounting and Auditing Firm, building relevant skills to become a Competent and Notable Accountant. Happy International Accounting Day! Choosing accountancy as my career has changed my life. (But the journey wasn’t that easy) Since childhood, I have seen 2 of my uncles working in accounts and being financially stable. They were a source of inspiration for me. I was in grade 9 when I decided to be an accountant After my A levels, I decided to do CIMA. (The turning point in life) My CIMA was supported by my grandmother. I faced many hurdles during my career: - Financial issues - Language issues (Tamil to English) - Failures Fast forward to 2024 I have: ✅My own accountancy firm with £200k turnover ✅4+ employees ✅Worked with over 150 clients. Attention all AAT, ACCA, ACA, and CIMA students: it’s crucial to carefully consider the sector you choose to build your career in. Over the past decade, I’ve recruited Accountancy & Finance professionals into a wide range of industries—from Construction and Engineering to Media, Software, Public Sector, Pharma, Retail, Charities, and more. For the past five years, I’ve specialised in Insurance. Each sector has its pros and cons, but the true test comes during challenging times, such as recessions, economic downturns, and the COVID-19 pandemic. The sector you work in can significantly impact your earning potential, job stability and opportunities. Setting personal biases aside, for long-term career growth, financial stability, and ample opportunities, I recommend exploring sectors like Insurance, Financial Services, Fintech, and Banking. The Tech industry also offers great potential, but choosing the right niche is essential. I often meet outstanding candidates whose salaries vary widely simply due to the industry they’re in—even when performing the same role. Choose wisely!

**I DID IT!🔥 Proud to officially become an ACCA Affiliate!** When I first started this journey, my friend Ishita Kahra and I had no idea where it would lead. We didn’t know the pay scale, the career trajectory, or even the long-term value. What we knew for sure was that the subjects were interesting, and we needed something to complement our bachelors.🌸 Fast forward to today, and we’ve both made it — ACCA affiliates together. 🎉 This journey has been all about learning, patience, and a lot of multitasking. ⚖️Balancing ACCA with bachelors and later managing a job alongside the course was no small feat, but here we are! As we grow, we often find ourselves thinking about returns: “What difficulty level this course has?” “What job security will this course give me?” “What’s the pay scale?” 🤷♀️ While these questions are natural, I urge you not to fall into the trap of living your life solely for security or external validation. You have the power to shape your path and live it to the fullest.🥰 Do what you love, and success will follow. I can promise you that! Throughout this journey, a common question was: *What’s next🤔?* Some asked if I’d move to the UK or start my own practice. The truth is, you don’t need to have every answer from the start. Just begin with what excites you and trust the process. Eventually, everything will fall into place.💯 I did this because I loved it.
