Someone I met at a networking event recently asked me after I accepted her LinkedIn connection request: "Why is your working experience so diverse and seemingly unrelated?" This is a question I encounter often, given my varied career journey. While some may perceive this diversity as indecision, it has been an intentional choice I made. As my distinguished Toastmaster leader once said, "The biggest room in the world is the room for improvement." This guiding principle has shaped my career decisions, focusing on the skills and areas I want to develop. I recently shared this story during my Ice Breaker Speech at the Alcon Malaysia Toastmasters Club. Reflecting on my career transitions across different roles and industries, I have come to appreciate the immense value of transferable skills. Here are three key benefits that highlight why I have embraced this diverse approach: 1. My adaptability allows me to work in dynamic environments. 2. Cross-pollination of ideas from different backgrounds promotes creative and innovative thinking. 3. Navigating diverse roles has strengthened my resilience and problem-solving abilities. In short, my diverse background shows my commitment to growth and learning. Plus, it makes for some great conversation starters. I'm proud of my journey and excited to see where it takes me next! #continuouslearning #AlconEmployee

Develop Innovative & Engaging Corporate PR Initiatives and Events | Lead Philanthropy and External Sponsorships for Bacardi Bermuda | Project Manage Production Efforts Related to the Bacardi Limited Annual Report and AGM
Meet Andreaz Glasgow, a remarkable young man who has chosen to return as an intern to Bacardi in Bermuda for another year. Andreaz is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Diplomacy alongside an MBA in Business Administration and Management at Long Island University, set to graduate in May 2025. So why did Andreaz decide to come back to Bacardi, rather than exploring new horizons? His answer is a testament to what we strive for at Bacardi – a dynamic environment where creativity and innovation are not just encouraged but celebrated. Here, every day is different, and everyone’s ideas matter. Last year, Andreaz experienced first-hand how empowering it is to see one’s ideas move from conception to fruition. In a world where interns often find themselves sidelined, Bacardi stands out by offering meaningful, impactful work. Andreaz’s story is a clear message: respect, validation, and a sense of belonging are not just nice-to-haves; they are essential for cultivating the leaders of tomorrow. As summer rolls in and many students like Andreaz join various organizations, let this serve as a reminder to us all. These young individuals are not just interns; they are budding leaders, rich with fresh ideas and perspectives that can drive companies forward. Let’s commit to not only guiding them but also empowering them to lead. After all, these are the individuals who will shape our future, and we want them to remember where they felt valued and empowered. #BelongingAtBacardi #InternshipProgram #FutureLeaders #BacardiLife #Empowerment #MakeMomentsMatter

4.5 months at Danone: Whirlwind lessons, unexpected treasures. No ordinary internship, this Danone adventure was a crash course in teamwork, critical thinking, and personal growth, disguised on the role of SGM's Brand Manifesto. But the real surprise? Being named among the top 3 impactful interns out of 50 brilliant minds! It was a humbling revelation: even a single voice can truly make a difference. Alhamdulillah. Beyond the technical, this journey unearthed unexpected gems. Friendships forged in late-night brainstorms, where diverse perspectives fueled our presentations, igniting passions and unearthing hidden talents. Every hour, from spreadsheets to celebrations, was a testament to the power of connection and shared purpose. Now, standing at the threshold of professional life, I'm not just grateful for the learnings and challenges. I'm filled with an electrifying ambition. Danone wasn't just a stepping stone; it was a launchpad. With newfound confidence, a treasure chest of friendships, and ignited passions, I'm ready to embark and inspire more. To whom read this, Choose your path wisely, and enjoy it!

Co-founder & co-Ceo @Chili Piper 🔥 🌶 Here I talk about lessons I learned to jumpstart my career from an intern to SVP. And to grow a company from 0 to almost 1 Bn
In 6 years I went from underpaid intern to SVP in a publicly traded company. Here are 6 lessons I learned climbing the ladder: 1. Your bosses boss's goals matter the most. Find what they are are deliver on those 2. Don’t be shy about talking about your successes. If you don’t, someone else takes the credit 3. You have to get really really good at prioritizing your time. You will be pulled in a million directions. The key is staying focused on the results that matter 4. No, you don’t have to grind 160 hours a week but you have to get really good at your craft. This means you double down on improving key skills in your spare time 5. Learn to really listen those around you. Be curious. Most of us are trapped in our heads and try to justify ourselves, try to force someone to do something, and label people around. If you default to curiosity at all times you learn more than most. This is probably the hardest to implement for most people 6. Once you get really good at listening - learn what motivates people in their roles. And get them excited about participating in delivering results with you. The more you learn to be a better cheerleader for others the more likelihood that you will be seen as a leader But the most important for me is this : To get to the results that get you promoted you have to get good at understanding what skillsets it takes to produce results. And just double down on those like you would at the gym

𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗲𝗱𝗜𝗻 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿 - 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗝𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗼 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 My road to step into corporate began at the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) where I pursued BBA with a major in Marketing. I left with more than just a degree: unparalleled memories and experiences that would shape my career. 🌟 𝗘𝗺𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗢𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀: 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 & 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀 While at IBA, I joined AIESEC, where I led a team of 25 incredible individuals and together, we propelled our entity into top global rankings. The experience was more than just leadership; it was about making a global impact. The lessons I learnt here were invaluable, setting the stage for the opportunities ahead. My path then led me to the corporate world through internships at Reckitt, Shell & Nestlé & here are my key highlights: • 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗸𝗶𝘁𝘁: Analysed 𝗗𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗼𝗹’𝘀 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝘆 in 3 different markets to identify opportunities • 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗹: Presented 𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁-𝗖𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, after researching and analysing their Retail Value Proposition (RVP) • 𝗡𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗹𝗲: Utilized 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 techniques to present our research in an interactive way. 🌍 𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗻 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱: I finally was able to land as a 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲 at Mondelēz International. Immersed in the world of sales and marketing, I faced new challenges and found opportunities to add value in innovative ways. This story would be for a separate post altogether – 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗲𝗱!😉 Now, as I reflect on this journey, I realize that every step was crucial in shaping who I am today. Now I am eager to 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗻𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗲 their own paths. 𝗗𝗠 𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗮 𝘀𝗹𝗼𝘁 & 𝗹𝗲𝘁’𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝘁!

I would like to thank Dr Andrew Tio, Ph.D for his time yesterday. So a little background how I got to know Dr Tio, I signed up for industry mentorship last year hoping to get insights for my career. SIT Industry Mentorship Programme is a joint initiative between the Centre for Career Readiness and Young NTUC. This programme allows paired us with an Industry Mentor from the relevant industry, allowing us to gain industry-specific career advice and guidance in developing our career path, as well as broadening our perspectives on career opportunities and aspirations. Dr Tio was assigned to be my mentor and I am really thankful for this opportunity. When we sat down at Starbucks yesterday, he provided me with many valuable advice which I have reflected deeply yesterday. Some key takeaways from the sessions are: 1. Always be open to opportunity given to me. Seizing opportunities is key to personal and professional growth. Each opportunity is a chance to learn, gain new experiences, and develop skills that you might not acquire otherwise. Even if the outcome is not what you anticipated, the process itself can be immensely valuable, teaching you resilience and adaptability. 2. One of the key thing which I love from the session was the phrase "Just do it". It reminded me of Nike tagline which focus on what needs to be done and just do it. Ignore the noise and prove to the rest on the task given to you at hand. 3. Many of us face roadblocks in our life. But what do we do when we encounter a tough situation? The advice is, "Take a break", recharge, revitalize and face it again. Just like how school operates, after every project, exams where we feel it is difficult and exhausting, we don't give up and instead take the school holiday, recharge ourself and prepare for the new semester. I am thankful for this opportunity and I look forward to many more opportunities to learn from you and to continue benefiting from your mentorship.

[𝗕𝗖 - 𝗕𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗲𝗱] Meet Ms. Ngoc Tran (Carol) - Former President of RMIT Vietnam Business Club SGS, Project Leader of Marketing Challengers Season 10, and Public Relations Leader of The Logisticom Season 5. “Looking back on my time at RMIT Vietnam Business Club SGS, I'm grateful for the personal growth and professional development it provided. Before joining the club, I was active in other organizations, but becoming a member of BiCier took my leadership and networking skills to the next level. I dedicated my university years to the club - instead of internships or part-time work, I was fully involved in the BC community for 3 years. Looking back, even though I regretted not participating in any professional working environment outside of university, I am still thankful for the time I spent in the club. This experience in BC shaped me tremendously, giving me practical leadership experience and helping me build lasting connections. My proudest achievement was leading Marketing Challengers Season 10 (Marcha) as a project leader. Before this role, I didn't have many major accomplishments I could feel genuinely proud of. Marcha was a turning point, allowing my hard work and dedication to shine. Of course, it wasn't always smooth sailing. But overcoming those struggles taught me flexibility and problem-solving. Most importantly, the success of Marcha gave me confidence in my abilities. It was a chance to evaluate my skills and realize my potential. To describe my experience with BC, I'd say it was 'super tiring' I took on multiple leadership roles while studying full-time! But I have no regrets. If I hadn't become so involved, there would have been consequences too, like missing connections with many impressive seniors. Of course, joining the club came with both rewards and demands. Looking back, I can laugh and say I worked 'super hard' during those formative years. The tiredness was worth it for the relationships, skills and memories I gained. BC enabled us to have the privilege of working alongside many senior members who were deeply respected. Observing and collaborating with their leadership styles allowed me to reflect and improve. BC's values and culture resonated most strongly with me of all the organizations I've been part of. I was not a natural leader in the beginning. But through meeting challenges head-on, I confronted my weaknesses. The pressure to meet expectations pushed me the most. Despite the difficulty, I emerged with stronger resilience and self-belief. I realized progress requires stumbles - the more I fell, the more I learned. Developing mental strength to pick me back up was crucial. Of limitless options, I'd choose RMIT Vietnam Business Club SGS without hesitation. The club transformed me and built my skills and confidence before entering the workforce. Within BC, I have found my safe place to glow up.” -Ngoc Tran (Carol) #RMITVietnam #RMITVietnamBusinessClubSGS #BCBeContinued #LifeatBC
