Last month we shared the news that National Institute for Health and Care Excellence’s draft guidance on Vamorolone does not recommend it for use by the NHS. NICE is currently consulting on this guidance and we want to hear from you to find out your thoughts on Vamorolone. Would you switch to Vamorolone from corticosteroids? Would you stay on corticosteroids if Vamorolone were to become available? What behavioural effects do you notice with use of existing corticosteroids? Is there anything else you can tell us about what you think about Vamorolone? Please email: sofiya@actionduchenne.org or contact any of our Support Officers We also want to share the survey developed by Muscular Dystrophy UK where you can share your views about the impact of existing corticosteroid treatments. The survey is open until midnight on Sunday 19 April 2024 - share your experience. https://lnkd.in/eRTcphU7 #tellusyourviews #research #updates #community #treatments

May is Preeclampsia Awareness Month: This year's theme is: "Predict Prevent Prevail." 🚀 Did you know? Preeclampsia and other hypertensive disorders affect 5-8% of pregnancies, and we're still unravelling their mysteries. 🤔 Currently, we rely mainly on medical history to predict risks, and our prevention tool is prenatal aspirin for high-risk patients. But imagine if we could do more! 💡 Together, we can triumph over preeclampsia! 💪 It's a collaborative effort: patients advocating for research and better healthcare, researchers exploring new avenues with funding, clinicians implementing life-saving practices, and policymakers prioritizing maternal health research, including preeclampsia. 💬 Let's unite and make a difference! 🌍 Alisha Doherty Helen Rose Maryam Ghorbani #PreventPreeclampsia #MaternalHealth #ResearchMatters 🤰

A new study explored the barriers and facilitators to implementing digital health interventions in adolescent and young adult (AYA) cancer survivorship care, focusing on patient-, provider-, and organization-level factors. Through twenty semi-structured interviews with AYA survivors and healthcare providers, the study revealed that both groups identified cost and resource availability as significant factors. However, providers were more influenced by organizational context, such as culture and communication networks, while AYA survivors were more affected by social influences and their own knowledge of the interventions. The findings highlight the need to address these differing perspectives to improve the adoption of supportive digital health tools in AYA survivorship care. goAMRA.org

April is Minority Health Month, aimed at raising awareness about health disparities and the unique health challenges faced by minority populations. Health screenings play a crucial role in addressing these disparities by providing early detection and intervention for health conditions that disproportionately affect minority communities. We’re proud to share that compared to prior vendors, clients of Reciprocity Health have seen a 164% increase in critical screenings – across adult annual well visits, breast cancer and cervical cancer screenings. By not only offering health screenings and education, but incentivizing it, we are able to empower individuals and communities to take charge of their health. We know that screenings like these provide actionable information to motivate individuals and families to consistently make positive lifestyle changes, seek the right care, and engage in preventive health behaviors. #MinorityHealthMonth

🌟 Behaviours are at the heart of public health. While health behavior experts have traditionally been absent from policymaking, change is underway. 🌍 WHO/Europe’s Behavioural and Cultural Insights (BCI) Unit is engaging with more and more countries dedicated to using BCI to tackle pressing health issues. From reversing decreasing rates of breastfeeding to enhancing cancer screening in high-risk groups, BCI’s impact is tangible. This new joint study by WHO Regional Office for Europe and the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) explores what needs to happen to advance the use of #BCI for health in the Region 👉 https://bit.ly/4ccdMc5 #PublicHealth #HealtcareInnovation #BehaviouralInsights

This week was a groundbreaking week for SOAP Health. 1. Received a huge grant from the NHS (UK) as part of a consortium. Huge. 2. Signed 10 new customer contracts. 3. Listed on the AthenaHealth marketplace. 4. Moved forward on our market leading primary care technology. 5. Made it to next round of a competitive competition in Singapore. The two most common misdiagnoses are missed early cancers and heart diseases. Our National Academy of Medicine predicts that EVERYONE will experience a misdiagnosis. You know what our progress means? Tens of thousands for now, millions in the future will no longer face the fate of misdiagnosis. Lives will be saved. Permanent disabilities will be avoided. So will financial catastrophe for many families. I thank G-d every day for making progress! #digitalhealth #diagnosis #savelives #livessaved #misdiagnosis
