🚨 Prioritizing Safety in Remote Communities: The Amphibious Fat Truck 🚨 In the vast and remote regions of Canada's North, safety is paramount when it comes to ensuring the well-being of both operators and the communities they serve. The Amphibious Fat Truck—a game-changer that enhances operator safety and helps open up critical logistics routes for our remote communities. ❄️ Why Safety Matters: Working on or near frozen bodies of water poses unique challenges and risks, especially during the harsh Canadian winters. The safety of our operators is our top concern, and we're committed to providing them with the vehicle and technology they need to perform their duties safely and effectively. 🌊 The Amphibious Advantage: The Amphibious Fat Truck has revolutionized how we approach logistics in these remote areas. Its ability to seamlessly transition from land to water ensures that our operators can navigate frozen waterways with confidence. This innovative vehicle's design prioritizes safety, offering benefits such as: ✅ Enhanced stability on icy surfaces ✅ Reduced risk of accidents during ice crossings ✅ Increased maneuverability in challenging conditions ✅ Improved access to vital resources for remote communities 🌟 Making a Difference: Our Amphibious Fat Trucks are currently deployed across Canada's North, playing a crucial role in opening up critical logistics routes. These routes are lifelines for remote First Nations communities, enabling them to access essential supplies, medical services, and economic opportunities. By enhancing operator safety, we're not only improving the lives of those who operate these vehicles but also the lives of the communities they serve. At RufDiamond, we are proud to be at the forefront of innovation in remote logistics, and we remain steadfast in our commitment to safety and community well-being. As someone who's working in the transportation sector, this photo I saw on Facebook makes so much sense. So much of our time and energy is wasted on traveling to work and going home when we could've used those time and energy to more important things in life such as resting and self-care, or spending time with our family and friends. Inproving our public transportation to be much more efficient and reliable would make a huge and positive impact in our individual lives, even to the entire nation as a whole. Making it happen isn't impossible, but public servants must double their efforts on being proactive and assertive in pursuing a better public transportation system for the country. #ShiftToRail #ProPeopleTransport #RailwaysForProgress

Rather than fully automating the vessels and survey equipment wouldn’t it be better for the workforce/economy if we just concentrated on cleaning the carbon emissions made by current vessels? People are surely the most important asset. The workforce earning a wage, then paying taxes back into their respective countries, which in turn support the economies and communities? I am all for progress but many survey roles are remote/wfh already, so with a minimal crew and cleaner vessels would it not make more sense to keep more roles available? It’s just my opinion and tbh, I am heading towards the sunset of my career so it may not really affect me too much. I do worry for the future of our younger seafarers though. Obviously it’s only my opinion. I’m sure there are many reasons to forge ahead with autonomous vessels but as a people person, I’m struggling to see why.

Work zones present challenges for all drivers, particularly CMV drivers. When traveling through work zones, reduce your speed, pay close attention to signs and signals, and always be prepared to stop. It's everyone's responsibility to share the roads! #WorkZoneSafety #OurRoads

For starters... 👎 New Transport for NSW data shows that #busdriver vacancies are up 10% compared to last month (a five-month high). 👎 In the 12 months to November 2023, there was a decline of 2,600 bus drivers across Australia. 👎 Governments don't consider the national/international #heavyvehicle #drivershortage before penalising operators via #abatements. So, where to from here? The Bus Industry Confederation urges everyone within and working with the Australian #busandcoach industry to take part in the IRU's (International Road Transport Union) international research project on global driver shortages because it’s important to know where we stand compared to other nations. The Annual Driver Shortage Survey takes a short 10 minutes to complete and is open to everyone across the #roadtransport industry. Please share the link with your colleagues, including those not on LinkedIn to help ensure Australian bussie voices are heard. 🚍 https://lnkd.in/gXncEtc5

In honor of #WomensHistoryMonth, we’re highlighting our female leaders and connectors. Meet Operations Manager Kristy Frizzell, who shares what she’s learned after more than two decades in #transportation. Kristy is our indispensable “behind the scenes” driver and integrator. She supports every level of our team with poise and perspective. Whatever HASS COE needs, Kristy gets it done. 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐭 𝐔.𝐒. 𝐃𝐎𝐓, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐞? I started my career with the U.S. Department of Transportation over 25 years ago as a contractor, where I gained valuable experience in program and project management, office management, customer service, and communication. Currently, I am serving as an Executive Assistant/Operations Manager at HASS COE, where I’ve been for the past year. My primary role is to ensure the smooth functioning of the organization. This includes supporting our team members to attend meetings, travel, and promote the office's vision. Additionally, my work has helped improve collaboration among colleagues. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫? I'm a good sounding board with a unique ability to provide valuable insights from a different perspective. I've come to recognize the significance of highly automated systems in transportation across modes, and the close coordination and collaboration required to ensure the long-term safety of these systems. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐚𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮? Working in safety transportation has given me a wealth of knowledge and experience, and an intimate understanding of the importance of transportation research and technology both at the component and system levels. For instance, the impact of a vehicle crashing into a guardrail or wall can mean the difference between life and death. The right type of guardrail can help slow down your vehicle and prevent it from flipping or colliding with oncoming traffic. But a poorly designed one can be catastrophic, leading to fatalities. The same is true for a guard wall. It's critical to invest in the research and development of transportation technologies and safety systems. This is not just a matter of business or policy but of human lives. As my team continues to grow, I remain committed to our vision of helping ensure the safe integration of automation into our roads, airspace, and seas. 𝐓𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐮𝐬 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐲 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰. Although I may not know everything, I am always eager to learn and face challenges head-on. I am an excellent listener and respond thoughtfully by carefully analyzing situations and contexts, while considering diverse stakeholder perspectives. My calm and composed demeanor is a secret weapon that helps me consistently deliver exceptional results.
