In a recent speech commemorating Juneteenth, I wanted to connect the spirit of freedom and progress to a vital topic for our workplaces: the difference between diversity and inclusion. Vernā Myers, perfectly captured this sentiment when she said, "Diversity is being invited to the party. Inclusion is being asked to dance." Imagine your workplace as a dance floor. Diversity is ensuring everyone's invited to the party – a beautiful mosaic of backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. But inclusion? That's making sure everyone feels welcome to join the dance. It's about fostering an environment where every individual feels valued, heard, and empowered to contribute their unique steps to the company's rhythm. As we reflect on Juneteenth's legacy, let's ask ourselves: How do we create workplaces where everyone feels comfortable stepping onto the dance floor? Where the music of collaboration and innovation is fueled by diverse voices? Share your thoughts and experiences below. Let's build on this historic moment to create truly inclusive cultures for the future. #Juneteenth #diversityandinclusion #leadership #corporateculture #workplaceculture

“Diversity is when everyone is invited to the party, inclusion is when everyone has a song on the playlist” Last week, as part of US Black History Month, DeLibra Wesley hosted a session for our business about navigating difficult conversations with regards to inclusion. DeLibra has great pedigree when talking about this, having nearly 20 years staffing experience behind her and also being part of Staffing Industry Analysts’ Global Power 150. The session was really well attended with employees from all over the world dialling in to find out all about learning your own unconscious bias’s and giving yourself time to think differently. As humans, we make 35,000 conscious decisions a day, so it’s understandable that your brain has unconscious blips to help you out. The biggest lesson we’ll take away from DeLibra’s webinar is that it’s ok to get a little uncomfortable. Credit to our Employee Resource Group, ethNASHity, for making this session possible. #BlackHistoryMonth #BHM #Diversity #Inclusion #Talent #People #DEI NashTech | Harvey Nash | Flexhuis | Spinks | Crimson | TALENT-IT

“Neurodivergence is a broad spectrum, so understanding where people sit, and how they may need support, is essential.” “Understanding each team member is unique, and that two-way vulnerability is vital.” “Flexibility is the foundation of long-term success – playing to each person’s strengths.” “Adapting your approach, rather than expecting others to adapt to you.” “There is no one-size-fits-all solution. Instead, it’s about keeping clear, consistent communication and making time to listen.” As an agency dedicated to looking after its people, we thought we’d kick-off Neurodiversity Celebration Week by sharing some inspirational insights from our managers and team leaders about how they support our neurodiverse team members to be their best self, every day. After all, we couldn’t be CTL without our inclusive culture of talented, creative and diverse people. What are your biggest priorities when it comes to managing neurodiverse colleagues, or being managed best? We’d love to hear your thoughts below… #neurodiversitycelebrationweek #NCW #CTLCommunications

Operational Inclusion Expert | TEDx Speaker | Inspirational Storyteller Real Inclusion happens one story at a time.
In the dynamic landscape of organizational growth and inclusivity, it's paramount to spotlight a key inquiry: "How does the organization measure and track progress in achieving equality and diversity goals?" Amidst the hustle and bustle of daily operations, it's crucial to tap into the latent power within our teams—the power of critical thinking. This isn't merely about adhering to checkboxes or conforming to the norm. It's about sparking curiosity, challenging assumptions, and paving the way where paths haven't tread before. Much like critical thinking, our commitment to equality and diversity isn't a final destination; it's an ongoing journey. It's a commitment that demands regular attention and concerted effort—an ever-burning flame that propels us forward. Let's foster an environment where every voice resonates, every question holds value, and every challenge morphs into an opportunity for collective learning, growth, and endless possibilities! What are your thoughts on this crucial facet of our organizational journey? Share your insights in the comments below! #AnnMurdoch #RainbowArmyAnn #EqualityandDiversity #InclusiveWorkplace

There’s no such thing as PERFECT balance. It’s about continual fine-tuning and adjusting as we progress. It’s a constant journey. A heartfelt THANK YOU to the Wisconsin Grocers Association, WI Women Grocers Network, and Kristin Popp for inviting me to be the guest speaker at their inaugural kickoff meeting! It was an honor to share my passion around #worklifeharmony and deliver new ways to think about the hot topic. The energy and engagement from each attendee was inspiring. We jumped right into ✨The STAR Method✨—something I crafted to build foundation for myself and those I manage and coach. We explored strategies and tactics for achieving harmony in both personal and professional spheres and conducted meaningful collaborations in break out sessions. Cheers to the women working to integrate ✨The STAR Method✨ into their daily routine. Remember, it's not just about finding balance (because no perfect balance exists) but actively crafting harmony in every aspect of our lives. ✨The STAR Method✨ is all about finding joy and fulfillment as you prioritize your well-being amidst the demands of work and life. Onward and upward! #worklifeharmony #womeninbusiness #womenempoweringwomen #groceryindustry | PepsiCo | National Grocers Association | Women Grocers of America
